In 1993, the hip hop world gave us an abundance of classic albums from artists like Wu Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest and Queen Latifah. Another group that made their mark that year was Digable Planets. While the trio wasn't the first group to blend jazz and rap, they were widely regarded as one of the best. They made everyone sit up and take notice from the moment their first single dropped. But then, they went on to release only two albums in total before disbanding leaving their fans to wonder what happened.

A new refutation of time and space did something different... very introspective... and curious. It really inspired me to think originally. It was kinda gangsta in its intelectualism. Id say there were more amazing tracks on A new refutation but Blowout Comb had some wicked tunes and arguably better. 9th Wonder, Borough Check, Jettin... this is subjective tho. Love DP

Digable Planets have been in rotation for me for years! They’re sound is like no other. They were young so I get creative differences. They just didn’t know how to collab those differences. I’m happy they found their paths back to each other.

I was so in love with Doodlebug 😍 I saw them in concert back in the 90s then again around 2017 at House of Yes, and both times they were dope. Digable Planets is by far one of my favorite groups. Both albums had no skips but my fave songs are Nickel Bags, La Femme Fetal (a song that is just as relevant today post-Roe as it was then), Jettin and 9th Wonder 🎶

I APPRECIATE that this channel made the EFFORT to find out what happened to them. LIFE GOT IN THE WAY!! Every friendship you end up being involved with are going to disagree on things, spiritually, politically, and conducting business. It's an unfortunate part of life. So is building a family. That alone is both physically and mentally draining!! I 💭 that they're completely broken up as a group. I'd say both yes and no. Yes only on the fact that they haven't made music in their hiatus. No in the sense that they have communicated about doing performances from time to time and haven't completely 💭 about working on another album. They now do tours every once in a while. Now because of this video the possibility of another album may be in the works! Whenever they do put a single or two for the time being I'm going to check for it 👍! Thanks for this video update!

Well....what happened to "Digable Planets" tend to happens to a lot of 90's rap acts faced with the change of times Gangsta Rap change the face of rap.....either you get down or lay down.....or they faced the 2nd album "Svengali Jinx" meaning it didn't reach the same success like the first album. I thought they was a really dope group....but with internal group problems, creative control, the money they thought they would.make didn't add up, & change of time. I guess with all that, maybe it was time to hung it up or go solo. 🎤🎧🎵🎤🎧🎵🎤
