What Happened to MVP Baseball?

EA Sports' MVP Baseball series remains one of the most legendary but short-lived sports video game franchises ever to be released. Through its new features, details, and a massive number of teams, players, and stadiums, MVB Baseball became THE baseball game to play for the PC, Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube, and PlayStation 2. However, in 2005 at the series' peak, MVP Baseball disappeared seemingly out of nowhere, never to return again. Why, you may ask? From NASCAR to the NFL, today, we'll be answering the question, "What happened to MVP Baseball?".

What’s funny is 2K made horrible baseball games but incredible football games and EA made incredible baseball games but horrible football games(still do). They should have swapped rights and not rob us of great games.

Great video, you forgot to mention that the Mod's are for the PC version of the game though. For guys who still want to play on the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube there is actually a guy who sells roster updates on eBay. I hear he puts hundreds of hours into those rosters per year and despite the fact that the console versions have more limitations than the PC version, that those updates help keep the game alive for guys who love playing the best video game ever invented!

MVP is still the greatest. Smoother and more fluent gameplay, especially on defence. Better franchise mode. Man I still play mvp and I will continue. I just get a better feel of the controls, which sets it way apart from any baseball games today!

MVP 2005 still might be my favorite baseball game. I remember MVP 2004 had a lefty homerun glitch that had to be fixed. It was so easy to hit homeruns with lefties.

MLB The Show was great following the demise of MVP Baseball, but ever since they became a monopoly things have gotten a little bad. I still like The Show, but it could benefit from some healthy competition. #BringBackMVPBaseball

Awesome video man! MVP baseball 2004-05 ⚾️ was simply amazing. I loved playing it daily as a kid and the soundtracks were ridiculously good.

I remember I was so disappointed when MVP 2006 didn't come out, I tried MLB the Show and whatever that 2K baseball game was, 989 studios I think? I just remember when I tried those games in 2006 and I was so disappointed by how crappy they were, like, third party developer, foreign country of origin, unlicensed, bad quality, if I remember correctly the controls were absolutely horrible and overly complicated on those games too

You have RBI baseball for XBOX if you don't want to play that then sell your XBOX and get a PS4

MVP Baseball 2005 is one of the best baseball video games I've played. It looks great in 720p High Definition on the original Xbox.

It's still so sad that EA has that exclusive NFL license. They also seem to the company preventing a good MMA game from being released. The UFC games are selling extremely poorly each time, yet they have not made a new Fight Night boxing game since 2010/2011.

This doesn't affect me as sports games have become way too technical. In addition, these gaming companies want buyers to spend extra 💰 to buy "video game money", as well as other additives?! C'MON MAN!! I prefer playing classic sports games like my favorite, Triple play 99 for PS1. 😀

I quite enjoyed mvp 04, have gone back to it in recent years. But i think sony are doing a good job, i havent played the show 19 but i enjoyed the show 15

19 is a good game but it has some issues with fielding and not enough stuff in franchise mode to do
