Walt didn't "intend" to leave the money for his family, he DID leave the money for his family. Specifically, he left it for Walt, Jr. knowing he would absolutely do the right thing and make sure his mother and baby sister were taken care of.

Skylar definitely got her money. For me the question is whether or not she uses it because she will always have the feeling it really came from Walter not Elliot and Gretchen. Also I don’t see Elliot or Gretchen taking the unnecessary risk of not giving Walter jr the money.

Jup - she DEFINITELY knows. I mean she doesnt needs to be an accountant to realize, giving away that much money, no matter who it comes from is suspicious. Why would people she barely had to do anything with give her, the wife of a druglord kingpin, huge sums of money with such weak reasoning? She knows where it came from and she will definitely use it after the second she moves on from Walt, especially when holly grows

A few things to mention, Skylar claimed her reasoning for not going to the police/dea was out of fear as said over the phone with Walt while they were recording The car wash was seized by the dea after Walt was outed as Heisenberg And most importantly, Skylar got a plea deal with the dea by giving them the locations of Hank and Steve's bodies which was confirmed in better call Saul in season 6 I'll probably update this if I bother to watch the rest of this video

Dude, she just needs to wait like a few months for Walt Jr. to turn 18. Then Gretchen and Elliot give Walt Jr. the money. There's no way Skyler is gonna end up turning to crime 3 months after her husband died. She'd need more time than that to be functional beyond superficial interactions with people.

Anyone who hates Skylar has been manipulated by Walt, only thing that Skylar did wrong was go along with Walt’s activity and helped Ted with his scandal. She’s a hypocrite but nowhere close to as bad as Walt and if u hate Skylar u need to hate Walt just as much.

Skyler was put in a difficult spot, everyone knows that. But in terms of characters, look no further than how loved Kim Wexler is. She was a true ride-or-die. I can't speak for everyone else, but Skyler's "love" for her husband was extremely conditional. Kim was legitimately going to murder a stranger to save her husband. Skyler wished death on her husband.

@@shure81Both have severe flaws, saying Skyler has a worse person than Kim Wexler because she didnt unconditionally support and love her lying, murdering POS husband who endangered their family, is literally crazy. See where it brought Kim to unconditionally support Jimmy, it ended with lifes destroyed and other than Skyler (who is also to be criticized due to her poor handling of the situation i.e. getting involved into his business). The big differences between the two, imo, are that Skylar was not involved until a point where Walt was already a murderer and drug dealer and refused to step away from the family. Kim was not supporting Jimmy, she was enabling him and to an extend a part of a team with him, they were also way more of an equal team compared to Skyler and Walter. Kim willingly destroyed Howards life and is also partially at fault for his death and she had way more options to chose her own fate.

it's Skyler's fault that Hank died she wanted Walt to hire someone to get rid of Jessie but instead they killed Hank because Jesse was going to burn the house down but Hank talked him out of it so they could get Walter which causes Walter's family to turn against him and he kidnaps their kid And no one gave walter any time to explain so they thought he killed Hank and In Ep S05E14 when Walt get’s back to the house, Skyler and Walter Jr. believes that Walt killed Hank, which he denies multiple times and says that he tried to save him (which is true). But when he kidnappes Holly and runs away and the cops show up later to their house, Walt calls his home phone to talk to Skyler, which is being recorded by the police. Skyler asks him ”Where is Hank?” and Walt says in an intimidating voice something like: ”You’re never gonna see Hank again. He crossed me. Family or not! You just let that sink in!” Why did he say that? Why would he want his own family to think that he actually killed his own brother-in-law? Why did Walt want to make it sound like he actually killed Hank? Walt was trying to deliberately take full responsibility for all inherent criminality of the situation. Thats why he called Skylar a "bitch," to make it seem like he forced her to operate in the business. And he also wanted to destroy all suspicion of possible family involvement by claiming he himself did every bad thing worth mentioning, including killing Hank

She's actually not in a safehouse if you pay attention. Which is really shitty of the govt but, I guess Skyler said nothing about her life being under threat seeing as how the Nazis would then kill her as they eluded police detection to threaten her previously. She's just living in a crappy apartment which is all she can afford (see Walt talking with the Disappearer up in exile). One of the many reasons Walt realizes he HAS to come back and wipe out the Nazis in the process. Otherwise they'd probably take the last of his millions from his family.

Skylar gets a bad rap, especially by the writers not wrapping up her story adequately in BCS or El Camino. But I guess the plea deal is as good as we'll get. Most likely she just got probation and no prison time. Because while everyone is clamoring for equality in this world, the simple fact is white women have it so much easier in the criminal justice system. They frequently get away with literal murder (if they can prove their partner was abusive). I'm ngl, she was annoying in the pilot episode and most of the first season. But I can't blame her for having issues with Walt's constant lying. Her character was so much better when the truth was out and she was working with Walt. I just wish the writers didn't chicken out at the end and give her a get out jail of free card. Her character arc would have been more interesting if she too had to face some real consequences. Ruining young people's live by getting them hooked on meth is not a victimless crime. I kind of felt like the writers were a bit sexist by implying she's a woman, so it's okay if she breaks the law, only the man can be the bad guy.

No one gets the real reason why viewers hated Skyler. It was because she betrayed Walt when she knew his cancer was making him unstable and 'before' she found out he was a drug dealer. Essentially, from her point of view, her husband discovered he had terminal cancer and this crisis led to some erratic behavour. And instead of showing understanding, she dumped him and shagged a co worker.

Watching the show for the 2nd time, it struck me how Skyler acted like she already knew what Walt would become before he did. With nothing more than Walt being late home and a story she (rightfully) didn't believe, she changed into the bitch most hated....this is when Walt was doing all he could to secure his family's future, Skyler would just leave for the day without saying a word and later slept with Ted and told Walt just to hurt him.

Before Walt is dealing meth, she comes off as very controlling. When Walt comes home late from work (the surprise party), instead of asking him "Are you ok? What happened at work?", she mutters at him "You're so late." Or the way she baby's Jr. Makes him go to his room and wear headphones while they talk about Walt's diagnosis

When I originally watched breaking bad, I did hate Skyler. I hated that she was always on Walt’s ass. That she was short tempered with him when he was going through cancer treatments and that she not only cheated on Walt with Ted… but was doing criminal shit FOR Ted while being upset with Walter for doing criminal stuff… But rewatching it and looking at it through her point of view, she loved Walter and her family at the start of the series. She looked for EVERY avenue to help Walt with cancer treatments and payments, the way Marie desperately did for Hank. She even offered to find a job and do whatever was needed. I honestly believe, if Walter would’ve filled her in on the plan maybe not from the start… but at some point close to the beginning/after his first cook and payout and cancer payment, she would have been on board. Not at first, and reluctantly, but still. And I think this would have avoided so many issues as well. But that’s not how the story goes.
