i can’t watch korra without missing sokka, aang and suki. i know that the huge time jump was needed to get deeply into a new avatar story, but i wish they would have done a show about the original show after the war first to make it easier to move on emotionally

The fact that the Legend of Korra barely even acknowledged Sokka really rubbed me the wrong way

I honestly think that Suki and Sokka stayed together but when things came to leading republic city, I think she chose to stay and lead Kyoshi Island, which means that Sokka was probably traveling back and forth a lot or Suki spending small runs of time in the city with him, but after Sokka died she decided to stay on the island full time.

Didn't the creators confirm that Suki died young? Also, with how unafraid LOK was to even show, let alone mention death, I feel like they wouldn't have hesitated to have Tenzin say Sokka sacrificed his life for Korra when he told her about him and the others stopping the Red Lotus. It would've made a good honor to his character.

I remember hearing about a canon comic book that showed that one of the blood bender bad guys from the first season used his powers to stop Sokka's heart, effectively murdering him to cover up having those powers to begin with. This was about when Korra was first discovered as the Avatar. What hurts the worst in all this is that the comic closes with Kitara finding the body and trying everything she could to heal her brother, but he'd already been without heart function for hours by that point.

Honestly at any point during the series I would've loved it if anyone, literally anyone got to find Sokka's meteor sword and constantly use it from that moment

In a Q&A on the Avatar wiki, Bryke suggested that Suki and Sokka "retired to the suburbs" of Republic City, but we don't know how serious or canon that is.

I think Suki is on Kyoshi Island helping the new generation of warriors. My personal headcanon is Suki and Sokka were together till his death. They had a family on Kyoshi Island and Sokka traveled often for work before retiring pretty early to spend more time with his kids because he remembers the pain of being away from his dad. I think Suki and her kids are still alive, but due to Suki's age or something they don't travel much. They're still in touch with their cousins, but much like many real families they're not a constantly within each other's company.

It’s a bit of a shame but I also respect the writers not telling us what happened to life everyone, it’s really interesting how little we know about what happened to Sokka, Suki, Mai, Ty Lee, and even Azula. I’m cool with Korra not telling us since it wasn’t really necessary but it could be neat to find out some day

U know I like sukki and zukos relationship/ friendship in the comics, as they get pretty close. They don’t have much interaction in the series so it’s interesting too see as she and the other Warriors becomes his guards

You know, I never considered that Aang was continuously using his Avatar state while trapped in the ice. It makes sense for his dying “young” (per Avatar standards) because of that.

I like the theory that Sokka retired early and went to live and start a family with Suki on Kyoshi Island.

I really hope Suki is still somewhere out there like perhaps kyoshi island since we didn’t see much in TLoK outside of Republic city, Earth kingdome and Zaofu

Just me seeing the original cast old and soon to die, while knowing others are already dead was a sad ride for me watching avatar korra. I finished it, but I cannot bring myself to watch it again. I still like to watch the og avatar from time to time, though :)

Watching an old Suki teach Korra how to fight would have been so cool. The Kiyoshi warriors have such a unique fighting style, and Korra could really learn a lot like how to use weapons should her elements stop working.

Maybe my brain made it up but I'm so sure I heard something about Sokka meeting Kora before he passed. Meeting the new avatar after Aang's passing or something like that. In any case it's sad to think about.

My theory for saka and suki is that suki dies (causes differ, maybe fighting a bad or of desease) and soka dies shortly after of heartbreak

I'd like to think that Aang and Sokka went on a secret mission in the spirit world. They were successful but by the time they reached the human world, their bodies couldn't survive the trip back home. It was one hell of a bro trip. They regretted not telling their wives and not being able to see them and their families again. But they'd do it again for the sake of the two realms. Then they end with their last fist bump.

They were saving Sokka and Suki's story for the next series after Legend of Korra

It's so sad to see these main characters of a show just declared dead in one episode of another show considering the fact that I grew up watching the Avatar I know it was necessary but it's kinda hard to take in especially when you have an emotional (or should I say 'spiritual') connection with the show I know a 4th book doesn't make sense for Avatar Aang but we still need to know about more challenges he faced growing old or maybe an Avatar reboot

Suki joining Team Avatar at the end of the show was great. When Team Avatar was splitting up from the others at the air bending temple, I was afraid that they were just going to get rid of Suki again, but Sokka pulled her with the rest of the team, and that made me happy. I really like her character, and her being relegated to a minor character is sad when she could be more.

There’s a book published that’s basically Aangs book to Tenzin about the history of the war and from letters written from the Gaang in it, excluding Suki, we find out Sokka and Toph hang out ALOT and wrote their tenzin letters together. Suki went back to Kyoshi island and is a warrior with Tylee. It’s unknown if she’s alive still during Korra. Sokka almost certainly was killed (I think it’s said one point in a comic or smth) a few years after Yakon’s trial or something like that, a couple years after Suyin was born

Ang’s death was actually because his spirit animal was a flying Bison which only live to be about 60. When one dies they both die.

Suki is more known than Chit Sang (the firebender prisoner) and he technically became a part of the team after Boiling Rock. I kinda wish we could've seen more of him in the 4 part finale

At least we can see Sokka as an adult. He barely made it through his Avatar years. To say he grew into a fine man is legendary.

Honestly. It feels like the writers couldn’t decided on what happened to Sokka and Suki and decided when writing Korra to just leave it vague. Not all writers have every last detail planned out

It's sad that so many characters from the original avatar didn't show up in Korra's story or even just getting a mention somewhere, but it also a way to show how some things just come to a end one day and that the past gives way for the future.

Its comfirmed theyre continuing the cycle in the earthkingdom. It wouldnt be crazy to think a sandbender will be the next avatar working with a kyoshi worrior depending from sokka and suki, possibly being the first water/earthbender blessed by the moon spirit.. boy thats a long shot

I think I once heard there was a comic that explained Sokka was killed but it was made to look like he died in his sleep. The blood in his heart was frozen and he died. Was out back in his home and discovered days later. I can’t remember the name of the one that did it but I think it was that waterbender that Korra faces in that spirit battle
