It’s so funny to me how Lee called out the fact that kids have more teeth inside their skulls and the whole hidden video is talking about how the smaller pigs have more teeth. Like Lee was really on the brainwave without knowing it.

I find it interesting how Guby only "disappears" when the kid interrupts him with the circle and pig ones he didn't ask a question when the kid spoke, followed by him disappearing and the "Only speak when spoken to" and "listen to what I tell you, pig" codes pop up the only time Guby didn't disappear was when the kid was answering his question "do you like animals?" he just doesn't like being interrupted when he's talking edit- just fixed some typing errors

The "Brainstorm/Green needle" moment fascinates me to no end! I can NOT hear Brainstorm AT ALL! The most i can hear is Brain needle if I focus on the word really hard and seeing Lee not only hearing only one but the one I CANNOT hear makes my brain tickle in the most curious ways!

the song playing at 37:03 is called "any little girl, that's a nice little girl, is the right little girl for me" by ada jones, and it was recorded in 1910. so early 1900, specifically 1910's, seems to be right on!

Have anyone noticed that Guby is talking to two different people. In his like education conversation he’s speaking to the left of the screen like he’s supposed to. When the kid talked, he is distorting to the right of the screen specifically.

The pig thing gets even creepier when you remember/know that pigs'll eat ANYTHING. like, you can get rid of a human body by feeding it to pigs. Allegedly. They'll have trouble with the larger bones in the legs, but they'll eat it. Allegedly. It was a major fear with the pig farm killer (NOT a fun read, look up on own discretion) back in the day, whether or not he fed his victims to his pigs, and whether or not those were the pigs he slaughtered and sold the meat.

I can see how it reminds you of FNAF, but it also makes me think of a creepypasta called 1999. Which is about a man who was behind a cheap and crappy tv show tricked kids to came to his house and traps them in his cellular. And even sacrificed them by putting the kids in a fire pit and burning them.

@@boodesultan12I don’t remember which GTLive it was but he talked about how a teacher used the clap and a half as a way to “congratulate” him that could easily be interpreted as condescending (it was more condescending because she didn’t think he should’ve earned more than that based on the work he had done in class compared to other students in the same class, if I’m remembering correctly). I could be wrong so please fact check on your own but I believe this is the story behind it.

the spinning dancer is easiest to flip for me by telling my brain that a given limb is on a certain side of the body. If you see the leg planted on the ground as the right leg it appears to spin clockwise, if it's the left, counter clockwise

One time my family was going out camping and my mom was basically rhe only one awake in the car, and she just suddenly yelled "cow!" And slammed on the breaks, cause one just walked out in the middle of the road put of nowhere. That brainstorm/green needle thing is cool, never heard of that one before. At first it was so clearly and obviously "green needle" that it was hard to believe anyone heard anything else. And then I looked away, doing some work on another monitor, and when it played again it was so clearly "brainstorm" that it sounded like a totally different sound clip had been played!

One thing that I thought about Gumby is that it is as they said a Jekyll and Hyde persona gone loose. Although I think it’s a different type of entity that uses the characters people make as a host for itself and as stated creates people into its vessel to collect teeth.

All I'm thinking with the Tooth Fairy comment is Terry Pratchett and how if you have part of a person, aka their teeth, you can control them. Then again, children lose so many teeth that maybe Guby just needs the calcium from them to build his own skeleton-form. Who knows?

I think you're probably pretty close with the tooth fairy idea. Old lore about fairies includes tales of not being able to enter a home without an invitation. They also are also said to steal away children in alot of folklore.

you absolutely *CAN* do greyed out letters with youtube subtitles! just like you can do red and green and different font sizes and position it on specific places on screen and stuff (iirc positioning and font size stuff only works on desktop tho, but color should work on mobile too)

the part talking about the auditourial illusions (19:24) is usually called the power of suggestion where as the person interoperates a certain sound from audio that is hard to make out clearly. this can come from any range of sounds like music to distorted sounds in analog horror videos. hope this helps out mat.

Oh man that was trippy with the Green Needle and Brainstorm listening thing. At first I only heard brainstorm, until I focused on hearing Green Needle, I heard Green Needle.

The teeth could be used to represent the consumption of creativity, or creativity itself, in the unlisted video the text mentions that larger pigs have less teeth, this could represent larger entities (corporations and stuff) having little to no creativity, the smaller pigs could represent smaller entities in media, like individual creators and such, who have more creativity to show ( or have more teeth to grow). Güby might be an entity that feasts on these smaller entities “teeth” (taking kids, who are known for having wild imaginations and are full of creativity) to sort of fill some sort of emptiness that wasn’t there before :D

21:30 about the brainstorm/green needle. It’s really about what word you have in your mind and what work your thinking about that’s the word you hear. And what’s really fascinating is that you can also hear “brain needle” or “greenstorm”

There is indeed a horror film based off the tooth fairy named Darkness Falls. It came out in 2003 but i haven’t watched it in years so i can’t say it was any good out side of some weird horror nostalgia.

To answer Lee’s question about what part of the sound is Brainstorm or Green Needle: the deeper sound is brain storm, but the higher frequency is green needle and it’s easier for me to hear green needle if I watch the lights bc they flash to the syllables of green needle instead of brainstorm.

22:51 The "Brainstorm" is on a slightly lower frequency than the "Green needle" like the Brainstorm is more akin to a hum while green needle is a higher pitched *boom bam boom* sound effect. It intertwines because the middle *bam* sound effect is what makes the "S" in Brainstorm. listen for more than one S if you don't hear green needle and ignore the S/*boom bam boom* sfx if you don't hear Brainstorm. At least that is how I hear it. Would be interested to hear how other people make the distinction without looking.

For me, I can hear either "Brainstorm" or "Green Needle" depending on what I want to hear. It's so weird though how I can easily switch between what I hear, but can only hear one at a time. When I hear one, I can't even find a trace of the other.

the teeth are definitely a metaphor for some quality of children, perhaps their innocence or something along those lines, that they slowly lose as they get older. he is not literally feasting on teeth, but his power comes from whatever childlike quality these kids have. maybe that’s why he begins to freak out when the kid interrupts or disagrees with him, since he is targeting children specifically because of their innocence and naivety, and the child is not responding in the way he wants them to.

I'm not sure if it was said or not before, but maybe MatPat hears both because of the lights glowing when there could be another syllable. *Green *Nee*dle. * beeing the glow. I'm saying that, be cause he says in this video, that when he doesn't look, he hears "brainstorm" but when he looks at the video, it's green needle. Also it seems that whispering or moving lips to the audio seem to help me change what I hear. Maybe That would help Lee. Love the Analog horrors and RNG's so this was fun to watch!

Re: green needle/brainstorm From what I can hear, Green Needle sounds higher-pitched than Brainstorm. So my theory is that if you calibrate the sound in your output to have more bass (or your brain tries to follow the lower tones first) you would more consistently hear Brainstorm, and calibrating for the higher pitches you would hear Green Needle more consistently. The beginning sound effect and the rhythm of the blinking light from the toy affects what your brain processes first - if you focused on the higher pitches of the SFX, you hear green needle. If you focused on the lower pitches, you hear brainstorm.

Your comment about tubular nature the human body reminded me that in High School when I took Anatomy and Physiology in the digestive system unit, another student was confused on how the digestive system was outside the body and I blurted out that the human body basically like those "slippery water wrigglers" from the rain forest cafe. My observation horrified that rest of the class but my teacher thought it was a good comparison.

"Brain" to "Green" is mostly due to the muffling. The hiss of the "s" in Brainstorm is sometimes heard as another "e" vowel, and people attach it to the previous "n". Then the muffling again is attributed to the change from "Storm" to "dle". So, the reason it changes from two syllables to three is because the hiss of the "s" is seen as its own syllable, which then influences the rest.

Simple way to get people to hear brainstorm or green needle, say it to them exactly how the toy pronounces it (perhaps even in sync with the audio) so they can understand where the emphasis is on the syllables and know what to listen for.
