Under-appreciated? How so? She was a very, very famous actress and very much appreciated all throughout her career. In fact, Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis went to the producers and tried to talk them OUT of hiring her because she would be working way below her level.

I had the honor of taking care of Ms. DeCarlo one day in my role as a nurse about 20 years ago. She was a pleasure to care for, and it’s an event I’ll never forget since I’ve always been a big fan. I’ve even got a gray kitty named Lily as a tribute to Lily Munster. Ms. DeCarlo is truly missed, but she’s left a wonderful legacy of performances we can still remember her by.

The question i want to ask is... Why was her remains given to friends... She had 2 sons one of them passed away but what about the other son? Her family? I hope this is a friend that made sure her remains were put in a niche. What a sad story. A Beautiful woman will be missed.

Which came first? I have a feeling the Addams family in comic form at least would have been before the Munsters but how oddly similar other than the fact that Marilyn playing the ugly duckling odd person somehow born into the family made for a very funny angle, being always at a disadvantage for being the ugly duckling to them but beautiful vis-à-vis society's standards.

Thanks for such a great tribute to her! She came to my high school in 1975, and gave an inspiring message to our senior class. The Principal at the high school, at that time was Norman Mathers, Jerry Mathers, (aka "Beaver", from "Leave it to Beaver") real life father.

I never realized that The Munsters only had 2 seasons. It has such a legacy that I thought it was on air longer than that. I'm an 80's baby 90's kid that grew up watching it. Thank you for making this lovely video about her.

I never realized she played so many other parts. I just knew her as Lily Munster, The Munsters was such a good show, I don't understand why it was pulled after only two seasons. Same with StarTrek witch was only on for three seasons. both shows became classics.

it really is hard to believe! The Addams Family even had 3 seasons. But personally The Munsters hold up so much better and are timeless. I have both on DVD, I can watch the munsters over and over... you just can't do that as easily with the Addams family.

@@IrishKyokushin lily musters was not supposed to look normal pretty, morticia addam was gorgeous on the addams family tv show, less pretty off of it, the put on a truckload of makeup, wig, etc etc they had a video on KZfaq on it

I had grown up watching her in the 10 Commandments and always wondering who she was in that movie but, never did I realize that was the same woman from the Munsters. The Munsters were one of my favorite shows growing up. I think I've watched every episode 20 times and they never get old for me. This was a nice trip through Yvonne's life. I always loved her Lilly Munster character. She was tops.
