The flood is downright one of the most terrifying things I ever seen. I would love a spin off game that's most horror through the eyes of a marine or even ODST. Similar to how we were first introduced to the flood back in Halo CE, it was in a horror like way. I want a game that's a full on horror game from the view of an ODST or Marine, I want to see them struggle and sometimes not even be able to fight and rather have to adapt, run, hide. To watch their team disappear and seeing figures blur past, things move. Everything dark and sounds you can't tell where they are from as they echo across the ship. For you to make choices that can hurt you later or help you later. Maybe it can start by dropping you into a fight with the Covenant which will be difficult for a marine and even ODST, after the could of battles against them the Covenant retreat into a Forerunner structure. You investigate and the Covenant find containment and labs with flood in them. They try to keep your team from releasing them but after being wiped out you and your team try to find out what these parasites are here for and end up releasing a single infection form. The infection form attacks your main character and infects him but doesn't turn quickly. Instead it waits knowing it will die if it tries to fight. That team brings the body back and takes it to a ship to study what happened. On that ship the body starts to change and breaks out infecting others. The ship goes dark in just a few hours and a team of Marines/or ODSTs are sent in to find out what happened. You go through the dark ship which what seems to be abandoned. Rooms that look like battles happened, blood stains showing slaughter, a few terrified survivors you come across not knowing if they are friendly or not anymore. You then encounter a few of them and find ship video logs showing the experiments on the body and of it infecting others, you see the massacre of the ship. Then a nearby covenant ship finds the ship you are on and docks wanting to board and see what they find. You run into a group of elites and maybe get the option to fight or try talking to them and seeing if they will listen to reason. If you tell them of what happened and they mention how the parasites must not get of the ship. You and then a team of elites with their commander, an actual character(if you choose to work with them, if you kill them you do this alone with what's left of your squad) you fight and look around the ship and find they have infested the covenant ship attacking them. You figure you need to wipe them all out so you go to set off the reactor on both ships. Two separate teams. You get to play as both just one at a time. The character you are and the leader of the elite team. After the reactors are set the elite them escapes the ship then it's down to you and your team to get out. When you get to the pods there is only one left. You take it leaving them to die, you pick one of them to be the one to escapes, or you launch it after putting the data showing what happened through their eyes and the ship's camera system leaving you and your team to all be here to fight them till you are overan. (I want decisions and to kind of see this game be similar to Star Wars Republic Commandos with the squads, just a good horror game that puts you alone sometimes and other times with your squad which all of them can die from your actions. It may be best to shoot or flank, run or hide, or just go in guns blazing. I want you to be able to search around freedom of where you want to go and how you want to do it. Tactically with your team, or try and use the ship to your advantage, I want it to be hard fighting them since you aren't a Spartan. I want deep story, terrifying new view of the flood, your decision changing how certain things will end or change the outcome. Like if you did kill the elites you would have to spilt your team making it harder and also if you do that then the team that goes to the covenant ship dies after setting the reactor to overload. So when it comes to you escaping there is only you and one fellow member and that's all. But pls there be a game like this, I am ok if they used some of my ideas I just want to know if they do lol. But I just want a game like this)

There is a definite need to have a Halo horror game based on the flood. Have the events of Half Jaw and Mona Lisa and other events. All the flood stories are perfect candidates for a dark halo horror game.

I remember watching this, it was the scariest flood story I had seen so far, and the comic style gave it a dark touch

I believe that just like Halo: Reach, there should be a spinoff game where you play as a forerunner combatant during their war against the flood... Would be a great change in scenery and technology, and who knows what weapons, ships, and massive flood forms could be seen in those games. (Also even more lore would be nice)

Seriously why does every last pod or seat situation have to be a fight? I would've said, "Hey elite I bet we can both fit in if we really tried" and then I'd take off my bulky armor. Better to be uncomfortable in a pod than to fight to the death.

The Mona Lisa is basically Halos version of the USG Ishimura from Dead space. Also I absolutely loved this story. Its such underrated story.

I’m working on a halo fan series that takes place in an alternate universe, and one of my OCs is a failed ONI experiment for a flood vaccine

Everyone here is making fun of ONI, but I honestly can't blame them for this. The Covenant burned hundreds of worlds and killed billions doing so. Honestly, the concept of building an army that could beat the Covenant was just too tantalizing for ONI to ignore under the *highly* desperate circumstances. Besides, at least they did the experiments on a ship in the middle of nowhere.

When I was a kid, the flood terrified me, and they haven't had the flood in the newer Halo's they haven't captured me nearly as much. I'm 21 years old now and this story of the flood still made me scared as hell. That should say something..
