Hiya
A few weeks ago I went to Signature Clinic in Birmingham with Adam to speak to my Doctor (Dr Ahmed) about my Blepharoplasty surgery to fix my eyes so I can continue doing nails and I took you guys with me!
It's super interesting to learn how they do these surgeries and what's important and hopefully, you'll learn something and know why I'm getting this surgery. I'm also going to film the surgery itself so you can see all of that cool stuff too, let's hope Adam doesn't have a big breakfast 🤢

I used to work for a optometrist. I was surprised at how many people we had to refer to surgeons for this surgery. I never realized how common this was until I worked there.

I've had this surgery and no regrets. You feel like you've been hit with a 4x2 across your face for about 3 hours then it's all good.

I had this surgery when I was about 52. I’m now 68 and look much younger than my years (not my words) One of the best investments in myself, I’ve ever done!

I have hooded eyes as well but I never considered that to be why I was having such difficulty seeing. I did that thing you did by taking your finger and raising my eye lid and omg, what a difference. Thank you for posting this. I think I'm going to see if I can get this done as well. You've literally opened my eyes 👀

Yep! My cousin spent his entire childhood wearing thick glasses and when he turned 20 he got surgery to remove the hooding and never needed glasses again. This was almost 30 years ago. It should be considered a needed surgery instead of cosmetic.

I'm so excited for you, Kirsty! I had an upper bleph about 10 years ago. The good news is it looked great, and was so subtle that no one could really tell. I just looked fresher and more awake without all that saggy crap on my lids. The bad news is, unfortunately, your eyes continue to age, so it doesn't last forever 🙁. I'm 57 now and my lids are more hooded and crepey than they were before the procedure. It's time to do it again! And maybe a nip and tuck here and there, LOL!

I had upper eye blepharoplasty in July 2021. Best decision I ever made. I’m so glad you researched surgeons as it’s can make all the difference. Best of luck with it Kirsty

Congratulations Kirsty! I had that done for the same reason several years ago, and Yes!!! You will feel so much better about not having that extra pressure on your eyes! I’m excited for you! Oh kirsty! I had upper blepharoplasty in August last year and the results i got are just incredible, my eyes look a 1000 times better. So good luck wirh yours and I'm sure you won't be disappointed 👍❤

Wow Kirsty I went to signature clinic in Rochdale on 14th feb last year and had upper and lower blepharoplasty and also canthoplasty ( cutting the corners of the eyes and lifting to give a foxy eye) my results are fantastic I can see my eyelids again. The under eye is amazing my bags are gone and even the mornings no bags!! 😁 Best thing I ever did. Good luck to you xx

My older sister and i have hooded eyes. And I feel I've always had trouble finding the right technique of applying eye makeup. I mean i live my eyes most beautiful thing about me apart from my soul but the hooded eyes it does seem that the older i get the more i squint and things like that that cause crows feet. But i think it's amazing you share these things with us and we get to get educated and share these journeys with you to some extent. I am going to be 41 in march. You look great I think. I love doing my own designs. Making art my own whether it's nails or sketching just love it. Wishing you the best with recovery many prayers to you and yours. Keep the videos coming! My mother in law had similar surgery, just last summer. She has thyroid eye disease due to Graves Disease. I absolutely hate how they say it's cosmetic...it's so much more than that! It gives back so much vision!

@@KirstyMeakin you will get a bit of bruising under your eyes and that will go down to your jawline. But I advice to cool it very often then you will have less problems. 🤞💋

I would love to see a racetrack day! I'm also interested in you eye journey...I have a similar issue with my eyes, so I'm curious about your experience (and the cost if insurance won't pay!)
