I love how they added an injury effect to foreshadow that Diana poisoned him

I'm guessing its because the devs thought that if you didn't meet with Diana then you already know what happens

In the first playthrough of the mission, none of the exits are usable except the one that involves dancing with Diana, forcing you to come into physical contact with her even if you didn't approach her at the start of the mission. I even tried making a new save and having her slip on a Banana peel, but she auto recovers after a few seconds and acts as if nothing happened so as not to soft lock you into being unable to exit. The sneaky devs.

For everyone else that saw 47 go down in that end cut scene before bringing him on board the train, this was a shocking backstab leading into a second double cross from Diana to use 47 to take everyone down... For both 47 and Diana.... this was Thursday

I knew she poisoned him the first time I saw this mission. She never touches or caresses 47 otherwise. The only other time she's done it was in BM when she put a hand on his shoulder before she stabbed him with the experimental serum syringe. I've never trusted Diana since Blood Money so I wasn't really disappointed.

I could wish they added a hidden cutscene where she pushes the button but nothing happens and there's this awkward silence, then she pushes it again several times and goes like "oh fuck".

I thought she poisoned him when they danced at the end, I only know it was optional and there was other escape routes

They should have made the touch unavoidable in a cut scene.

I think the fact is that the missions have a so-called canonical way of passing. Most likely, in this case, the canonical one is the meeting with Diana and saving her from Don Yates in the course of the mission story. It's like in Colorado, after the first playthrough, you can leave the mission in a different way than through the storm bunker., but the canonical escape is through the storm bunker with finding out new information about Providence and about Erich Soders.

Diana not touching 47/alternate starting locations are probably non-canon. But yea, I still feel like there should have been a different cutscene.

To be honest, the “betrayal” was a surprise but the way they talk to each other is like in code. Diana basically just told him it was the only way to get close to Arthur Edwards

Throughout Hitman 3, 47 practices trigger discipline. He was unaware of Diana's plan, so in the cutscene 47 aims the gun at her with his finger on the trigger. The full cutscene isn't shown in this video but searching up "Hitman 3 necessary evil" will probably show it. I think its a really cool detail to show 47 feeling actually betrayed.

At first, I thought that injury effects was meant to resemble 47's heartbeat racing after being touched by Diana.

the thing is if nothing would've happened then the final mission couldn't have took place. diana was speaking all that bull to lure the guards on her side. she knew 47 was strong so she poisoned him in order to get him in to the constant - hence why grey tells 47 (even though he's his concience, but that makes even more sense) that even though "she has every right to" want him dead "after what they did", she didn't choose power, because she merely helped him. i mean let's be real: he's indestructable (unless you get into gunfights as a new player or run into fire or explode or something. then no he's very dieable) and she knows that

I knew since this was basically a soft reboot that Diana would “betray” 47, but in this case I find it funny. She had no real intention of letting 47 get hurt. It was all a show. She had no time to inform him of her plan, and she trusts in his ability absolutely. I had noticed the red flash, but Mendoza is the level I started having visual bugs, so I didn’t think anything of it. Nice touch, devs.

The first time you play the mission, you have to tango with her, so I guess she transferred it then in that case.

I expected nothing would change (even if it created a plot hole) because it is a pre-rendered cutscene and it's possible that they might have not really anticipated enough people purposely avoiding touching her. It would be cool if there was an alternate cutscene that played (and maybe 47 just gets shot by the people in the trees), but doing that would require an additional pre-rendered cutscene that, while nearly insignificant given the size of the other aspects of the game, still takes up some aditional memory. It would also require some additional code that tracks whether Diana touched 47 even when outside of the Mendoza level to make sure the correct cutscene is played. I loved the video! I never realized how the game foreshadows future events by using the injury screen effect!

I always thought when the say “the only way, to get this close” is them both knowing that she did it so he can get close to the constant. Perhaps it was planed from the start

What I don't get is if the 'canon' method of leaving is the dance with Diana, why even do the funky little hand touch in the first place since shes touches him much more naturally later

Am I the only one that didn't ever doubt Diana? Actually the cutscene where she triggers the poison felt almost like they rehearsed it, I don't really think 47 didn't know from the start that Diana was trying to get him close to the Constant. She even says he's cocky and that'll be his downfall, and that what must happen is that the Constant gets to 47/tracks him. During 47's reaction to the poisoning that "what... Have you done??" Felt so dramatic and honestly fake, I personally think he was in from the start, but then while having the nightmare he actually had second thoughts like "hold on... Maybe..." And it was his insecurities, not that he didn't suspect or knew about the plan

i like that the canon suit for this mission is the white tux but in the end cutscene he wears his classic suit

I remember this beinf an issue but the Canon actually states that 47s clothes or weapons also have the Toxin as Diana is usually the one who smuggles them in. So she doesn't even need to touch him at the party but it's likely u use a gun in the mission

Not really surprise here as your objective (though evidently optional) is to speak to her, thus the story is linear to that path. It would be like not dancing with her at the end. To me, and the way it seems to be written, that should be your only exit the first time. It's not, but it should be, as the exit I chose where also the entrance, but I had to run by the dancehall in order to get there and there's no way you miss her standing there with a huge exit sign over her head.

47 had to take a second to process it, but probably knew this was Diana still working with him, doing an old trick to get him close to his next target. It's not exactly the first time.

Im guessing this is possible due to the extra invitation in the parking lot that is used for the second available spawn in Mendoza and the escalations

Is there a secret ending. And that guy said in Dubi, perhaps this is a chance for us to get inside he would never expect it from one of his own. The First 47 would of had a Contingency plan in place like she gets blown up or something.

Did you do this on a campaign new save? It's a long shot, but that could make a difference. EDIT: The only exit on the mission when first time playing is the tango dance if I remember correctly, so canonically 47 gets touched.

I knew who the female target was my first time around, so I shot her and hid. Then I killed Yates but killing everyone around him first, took his keys, and left. So I never touched or even saw her either.
