This is the science side of it. but the experience of having a Grand-Mal is TOTALLY Different. that even neurologist will never understand. Believe me, as a person who's had 100s of Grand-mals in his life, the the science will never be able to describe the experience of it.

hello my dad has epilepsy too and experiences occasional seisures, with these staring spells that come beforehand. could you tell me if I'm supposed to try to break him out of the staring spell or let it happen? I can break him out by calling his name or touching him but I don't know wether I should. I already know that during a seisure I can't do much else than keep him in a position other than laying on his back. also I'm pretty sure he gets complex-focused seisures because he tenses up his entire body and has after effects.

I’ve had seizures since I was 3 years old. I’ve had 3 forms of seizures. Grandma, focal, and the kind where you fall out. I turned 69 years old this month and I still have the seizures where I fall out. In 2019 I fell and broke my right hip had to have hip replacement surgery. This year 2024 I fell and dislocated my left hip had surgery to put it back in place. I’m doing well starting in home therapy to get me back on track. It’s been rough but with the help of God I have made it through. Thank you Jesus.

Today a kid in my math class who sits in the desk in front of me, had a seizure. It was my first time witnessing someone having one (in real life). His head suddenly pulled back towards me, his eyes rolled back, and he let out a strange sound. My first thought was that he might've been goofing off, but then he leaned forward again and started seizing. Luckily, two students in my class, one in the med program, knew what to do and as he started to tip out of his desk they made sure he didn't hit his head while our teacher desperately tried calling the office to get the nurse, unfortunately he had a rare name so it took longer for the office lady to understand what his name was but eventually the nurse was on the way. Next thing I know he started choking so the students helping him quickly rolled the boy on his side. I couldn't see half of him, I'm glad about that, but I could still hear the sounds coming from him. When the nurse arrived with 2 cops, his seizure stopped and he slowly started to gain consciousness, trying to stand up but he didn't know what was going on as the girls tried to get him to sit back down. Then, our teacher told us to evacuate the classroom so we stood out in the hall. One of the school's APs saw us and led us to an empty classroom while the nurse and cops got the student situated in a wheelchair, I'm assuming cleaned up (luckily nothing but some saliva) then out to the paramedics truck waiting for him. After witnessing this with (unfortunately) front row seats I've been nauseous all day but for some reason learning more about how seizures work has been giving me a bit more of peace of mind. In regards to how I felt in the moment that it happened, I felt lightheaded and the energy drink I had before certainly wasn't helping with how I was feeling, it was almost like an offputting rush yet I also seemed to have disassociated a bit cause I didn't realize the student next to me was telling me to move my desk back to give the seizing student room. Guess I was in a bit of shock. Needless to say, explaining this event in detail is helping me feel better, now I hope my brain forgets witnessing it.

I have absence seizures. But the reason I try to learn as much as I can about epilepsy because my older brother has severe epilepsy that affects him after waking up. My brother is always the most confident in the room and it just breaks my heart to see him go from that, to unresponsive and convulsing. If I had the means for good education I would devote my life to epilepsy research. I hate it for all of the opportunities it took from my brother.

I to suffer from seizures. But I have found my trigger thankfully. Mine happens when I don’t get enough sleep/rest. Sometimes is hard though when having to work and balance personal life. I am prescribed lamotrigine and lorazepam. But as long as I’m sleeping enough I’m seizure free. But I have them few episodes where I have restless nights and that’s when I know I have to be more cautious through my day, and try to either sleep in or try to sleep during the day to get extra rest.

I’m also epileptic (Generalized and focal), I’ve had epilepsy for over four years and I’m currently fifteen so some pple do say to me they think illl grow out of it but idk rly, last year i had heart loop surgery bc nurses and doctors thought things to do with my heart triggered my seizures bc when I do PE things at school I have a seizure and also at the gym. But now they don’t think it’s my heart well they know it’s not bc finally a few months ago they finally found where my epilepsy is in my brain but I’ve found out I’ve got Generalized epilepsy and have said multiple times to some nurses and my parents that I do think I have that when they thought I had focal epilepsy but my epilepsy is on both sides of my brain so I can’t have brain surgery but they’re thinking about putting well doing a VNS surgery on me so they’ll take out that heart loop in me and put that in instead.

As a person who was diagnosed with epilepsy at 15 (I'm 36 now), many of these seizures probably occur because of puberty. However, if you continue to experience them, they are generally caused by four things: lack of eating, lack of sleep, stress, and the fitness of your body. What's challenging about these four factors, in addition to the medications I take (all of which have the side effect of dizziness), is that now and then, I could be walking just fine, and BOOM! my legs will turn into jelly, and I'll fall straight onto the floor with the world spinning. and I either have to crawl to a chair or stay on the floor and wait for it to stop. This is gonna sound weird but it's actually one of the good things about seizures. If you have Grand-Mal seizures, hopeful you have seizure auras with them. Because if you do, in that time frame of the aura you have the chance of stopping the Grand-mal seizure from happening.

Is there a connection between Parkinson’s and seizures? Both are a result of action potentials firing off too much in the neuro muscular junction right? Are seizures the result of having too little or too much of a specific neurotransmitter? Which neurotransmitter is at fault for over facilitating the movement of Na+ into the next neuron? Maybe they lack an enzyme that is supposed to break down a specific excitatory neurotransmitter?
@rhurn3605
@rhurn3605 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I believe it to be a result of nothing more than neurons firing but at an extremely high rate and very suddenly as well! High speed neurons and sudden heightened electrical activity doesn't go well, as seen with humans with epilepsy and seizures..... They're could be an enzyme that their brains are missing which if that's case, then there's absolutely nothing we can do to get this enzyme back into their brains and to stop all seizures from ever occuring in their lives??!!

Wondering how many people suffering can identify their "aura" type- sensory sensitivity

I can , I judge how long it'll be before I have a seizure by the intensity of the " Aura "
@collinkinning1691
@collinkinning1691 Жыл бұрын
That aura can be very intense, for me it starts in my gut and becomes a hot flash then peaks and i get cold really fast. Having nerosarcoidosis this tells me i need to take an anti-seizure med and call the doctor. This aura causes me to stop and sit and "hold on" as it can last upwards of 3rd to 60 seconds before the hot flash. Frustrating but you learn to accept and cope after enough times

I had an attack only once, in my full consciousness, and I didn't need a doctor to give me a diagnosis.Epilepsy is an attack of the energy entity, the spirit, on the energy entity of man. For the most part, the person who is attacked experiences a total blockage of consciousness due to a burst of high energy, and after the attack he does not remember anything except how the epileptic seizure is coming. That feeling of coming is the feeling of approaching the attacking entity.Each attack costs the attacker his energy. And for those very rare who experienced the attack in full consciousness they know very well what attacked them. They know very well that they cannot trust a man in this matter. Medicine in no way helps the injured party because the origin of the treatment comes indirectly from the attacker. You take medicine or go for brain surgery, you will not be attacked. Their goal is to incapacitate the human spirit through the body with the help of another human being because on a spiritual level they cannot accomplish this.After the so-called death of the body the only value is energy and the struggle for energy continues in this simulation. More energy, more awareness or processing capabilities.

Go to the doctor straight away if it happens for 5 mins of more than that again, it's called status epilepitic seziure and it does have the potential of killing a person if not went to the er soon after having it, so be careful

COMPLETE nonfactual video. There is MORE THAN TWO types of seizures. And seeing a doctor does not mean a person is going to receive treatment, much less correct treatment. This was a pathetic effort by this channel.
