This is an experiment to see What happens to Denim Jeans in Epoxy Resin ? This one I have had planned for a while but wanted to wait until my jeans had worn! 😆lol. So I think you will find this experiment intriguing and very interesting. I had a massive problem with my first attempt and it seemed as though the Denim reacted to the resin in some way. I'm unsure? The second attempt was just incredible, really cool result if I say so myself 😂hahaha. I think you will enjoy this one folks and its a good start to the year 2022. If you are not subscribed yet please hit that subscribe button on your way through. we have some more cool and happy funky things happening this year and you wont want to miss them, trust me! . Take care & enjoy!

@@Grandwigg This is one of the things I like a lot about Nick's videos. He doesn't show a polished version of his projects. He shows how it goes, and how it doesn't go. We can all learn from his mistakes, and not let our own mistakes (at least those that do this kind of work) get us down.

I’m so glad someone was able to reach out to you. I know the YT algorithms make being a content creator frustrating and super difficult sometimes… I always watch your videos all the way to the end! I was worried you seemed so down on yourself. I don’t know what goals you felt like you weren’t hitting, but I hope you keep making stuff because YOU love it. Your joy in what you do is the main reason people keep coming back, no doubt. Screw the algorithm, you do what makes you happy. If being over the top isn’t what you feel like, don’t do it! Just be you and be happy in what you do. Sorry for the waffle of my own there 😂 I loved both of these bowls!! It’s crazy, it’s really hard to pick, they’re both so cool in their own ways. I honestly would be proud to have the pair on display myself. Love it. Keep making things you love and keep experimenting! Can’t wait to come to makers central one day myself. We’ve got your back, Nick! P.s. you could probs put out a monthly hour long video of you just waffling and people would watch. Jussayin. 😂

Another thing I've noticed is being unsubscribed from channels I love. I noticed I was unsubbed from this one and that could be part of the reason views went down? If it happened to enough people, it would definitely affect your channel. :/

It is really great that you are "back in the saddle" as it were. You are one of our household's favourite makers, and we think it is brilliant how you show your entire projects with all their ups and downs. If even a master maker such as yourself encounters difficulties from time to time, it gives the rest of us hope! And it is also great to watch how you turn an apparent mess-up into an excellent end result. Looking forward to a great 2022!

Yeah. I had the same thought! Spin it with some epoxy coating like you would do a tumbler! I really think that first one just “fizzed” because he didn’t use a pressure pot. Since it was fabric, it made the bubbles really small and so they got trapped instead of rising and off-gassing.

The first one I can see with a water-tight liner as a decorative container for a potted plant. The blue/white would really blend well with the green of a variegated spider plant. The second one would look great on a light-toned wood side table as a candy dish or key drop. They are both fantastic. - Nick, you take care of you, we'll be here when you get around to us!

I would bet the reaction to the first blank was due to the residual laundry soap in the jeans. It appears that the pressure pot was enough to ged rid of the extra bubbles, but you could also wash the jeans in a clear water cycle as well. Despite that, the first blank turned out great! One question: With it being so porous, did you consider either stabilizing it or giving it an extra coat? Just curious.

That's what I thought as well. It looked so much like suds from a washing machine and no matter how well you spin the water out a little soap often stays in the material. On the other side, it did look kind of cool because of the reaction. It was visually interesting like an abstract painting can be.

Maybe a waste block putting compression on the denim, plus the pressure pot, would have helped the larger blank. Also, I would try having something like a seam, or a rolled section here and there to create ripples on the layers above. With some compression it should still have good adhesion between layers, and create some additional patterns.

My dude, you bring this kind of amazing humor and comedy with both being self-aware of the very silly things and being still completely committed to them, and nobody else does it like this. You're awesome and super encouraging to watch. "This professional artist on YT embraces his ADHD and creativity and all the 'weird' and quirky and silly things that make him happy just being himself no holds barred and maybe more people will start learning to just shamelessly be ourselves and we can destroy social rules that don't make sense and are total crap anyway. The larger bowl makes me think of a mortar, though I wouldn't use it as such. Looks interesting, but with a lot of small holes. It needs to be coated in resin so that it fills up those holes, and so you can give it the brilliant shine that you are know for. I look forward to more stuff from you. And Nick? My neighbor made knife handles from bluejeans over 15 years ago. Just layered them like fiberglass then cut the blanks into shape for each knife he made. Also made the knives from old worn out files.

As an American it is very true, the accent definitely has a huge role in what keeps me coming back. Aside from the quirky and creativeness

As someone in the US, Yes, I love your accent! It's not just the accent though. I also love your quirky sense of humor and your puns. In my family puns are a birthright and family tradition.

I love both the bowls but the second one is my favourite. I love that you don't let weird resin reactions stop you from making something amazing

Nick, the projects i like most are the ones that don't go to according plan because you always find a way to do something creative with it which ends up in something awesome and one of a kind. Please keep your spirits up and when something doesn't turn out the way you hoped, maybe put it aside and when creativity hits take it up again and do something with it because that can end up in something even better than what you might have planned. Or at least that is how i think about it. Keep on waffling! :D

Happy 2022 Nick. This was more like yourself.... I'm happy you're back Buddy. I think both are so awesome, but I'm leaning towards the first one. It just looks like blue lava and that to me is RAD 👍👍 I'm looking forward to seeing more from you in 22. We are here for you in any way you need. Take care, stay safe and healthy everyone ❤️❤️ Awesome work sir. 👍👍

I'm glad to hear you're feeling yourself again. I was a bit worried about you (and likewise losing your channel). The most important thing is that YOU are ok. The cherry on top is having your channel to look forward to. I am torn as well on the two bowls. The smooth one appeals to my ocd but the bigger one appeals to my creative side. I love them both. I love that you do things no one else is doing. Even if it's "just a bowl", it will be a wildly funkadelic bowl that's a one off and amazing!! Your mind must be a very fast paced disco dance of fun ideas and creativity. 😍😍
