It is completely false that its impossible to sneeze with your eyes open and that your eyes will "pop out" if you leave them open during a sneeze. There is no scientific evidence to support this.

ok i'm gonna share a nasty story. in front of my bed, there is the door of my closet and right now, i can see traces of yellow snot on it. and since i don't recall sneezing during the night, I must have been asleep (disgusting I know)

I sneeze with my eyes open all the time. Also, I sneeze waaaay too often, many times I sneeze so much that my whole body hurts, and worsening each sneeze, especially around my elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles.

Do you try to keep your eyes open or they just automatically don’t close because your eyes can become damaged by being pushed out and it’s not good

This may be a dumb question but.... If the person suffers from Lagopthalmos, a condition wherein the person has the inability to complety shut their eyelids. They say you cant sneeze while the eyes are open soo.... Does anyone know if they can sneeze while their eyelids are open or not?

Aliza Siddiqui I don’t mean to be offensive, but even if your heart stopped beating, you’re not dead, and not anywhere close to dying. All your heart does is pump the blood through you body and it also helps bring oxygen to your muscles and brain, etc. You won’t die unless your brain dies, which can take a few minutes of lack of oxygen to happen. This is also why when someone is drowning and stops breathing, you can keep them alive through CPR by manually pumping their heart which helps keep their brain alive.

lol. i sneeze a lot and I thought I was simply closing my eyes because I close it while my lungs are compressing, in preparation for the outcoming blast. Next time I'll try to keep my eyes open as a challenge for the impossible to keep eyes open when sneezing
