I don't know about bees, but I was stung by a yellow jacket when I was 2-3 years old. She had went headfirst into my blue kool-aid bottle and got stuck. Mindless little toddler me didn't even think to check for bugs and drank the juice, only to get a sting to my tongue... Ever since then I have steered clear of anything flying with a stinger. But then I tried picking up an ant... a velvet ant! 😂

I hear those velvet ants can be gnarly! In my experience, wasps and yellow jackets are a lot meaner than bees tend to be. But that’s terrible to get stung on the tongue! No wonder you still remember it!

😢 If we could only mimic their 'peace' vibration 🙏

Most of the time, the bees are very pleasant as long as you are pleasant with them. And as you could see, she was the only one who stung me. I really do believe that they sense fear in humans. So who knows? maybe we’re getting close to that goal?

rip worker bee 🙏

Fun fact, bees can accidentally come undone when twisting around and free themselves. I’m not sure but if it happens you could try to get it out without disemboweling the bee, would be a neat experiment

Didn’t know that… in all my time beekeeping I’ve never experienced it, but if I do, you can be sure I’ll have a video to show it!

Yeah, in the beginning of the video the bee looks like it's doing that, I got confused when the bee decided to kill itself
@dalishrogue362129 күн бұрын
Can you try to scrap them off before they kill themselves?
@TheKingOfBees12329 күн бұрын
I’ve had a few people asking that. As far as I know there isn’t really a way for a bee to free itself. Even with human intervention. But I’m gonna do some experimenting and try to find out!

Watching you get stung makes me cringe!!!!!!! I told you I am not scared of bees, but I am allergic!!!!!
@TheKingOfBees12329 күн бұрын
I appreciate you watching even if it makes you cringe! If it makes it any better, it doesn’t hurt much!

So you just said "oop! I got stung time to pull out my phone and record :)" How?? You just turned off your pain receptors??
@TheKingOfBees12329 күн бұрын
After so many years of beekeeping, most stings just don’t hurt too bad anymore. Some places can still be sensitive. But I’ll do anything for a good video!

He was already recording before he realized he got stung

@@TheKingOfBees123 It's impressive either way. Do you ever try to save the bees that sting you as in taking out the barb without having them pull their own intestines out?
@TheKingOfBees12329 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, the barb is so small and the bee is so delicate that it would probably not be possible to accomplish. But luckily, a huge majority of the bees in a hive have no interest in stinging, so the bulk of them will never die a stinging death.
