Earlier today I downloaded Clone Hero onto a school computer. The supply teacher wasn’t exactly focused on whether or not we were playing games, so I downloaded a single song to play. Soulless 4. (All taps in order to not get steamrolled entirely.) I couldn’t just pick up the keyboard (he would’ve caught onto that 100%) so I did it with the keyboard in resting position. Somehow, I got 42% despite having been away from Clone Hero for about five months. Neato. Nice video, Alec.

Kieran Kaempen Same, my Razer Deathstalker has very low-profile keys, so it’s easy to do hammerons and other neat tricks. I’m pretty much better on a keyboard than an actual GH guitar lol

I remember there was a browser based online guitar hero type game that recommended you play with your keyboard like this. It wasn't frets on fire or a flash based game, it was online with leaderboards and everything. Somewhere between 07 and 2010 but I can't quite remember when.

Back in 2011 there used to be this online game called Jam Legend that was basically Guitar Hero for the PC, where you would use the keyboard exactly the way you saw here. Needless to say I spent way too much time in the public library looking like this, much to the disbelief of anyone who witnessed it.

I'm legit looking for tips on making this fun/playable for keyboard because my guitar finally took a shit on me and I've went to every good will/resale store for a 40 mile radius with no luck. I've literally switched to using my right hand on all taps because it's a laptop keyboard so I can't hold it right and i'm just so bummed... Don’t know if you still wanna know but it’s when there are brighter notes after a regular notes. They are called hammer ones and replicate the real life hammer on technique where you just hard tap on the fret to make a sound. Basically the extra brights can be tapped only after you strum the regular note before the hammer-on sections.

They're just HOPOs. So basically Tap Notes but the difference with Taps and HOPOs is that HOPOs need to be strummed once you miss them.

This is exactly how I play, with my the exact same keyboard using F1-F5 as the note and the up and down arrow as the strum and I've gotten so used to it and I could very possibly beat you if it was keyboard vs keyboard

I actually play like this. I've gotten 86 percent accuracy on TTAF. The hardest parts are the fast strumming parts because I use 2 hands for frets.

Just so you all know, Corsair keyboards are not good if you play a lot of rhythm games. Their keys start to overhit a lot after a lot of abuse.

Why is that? Most keyboards have Cherry MX Switches, like Corsair. Some have similar ones *cough* copies *cough*, and they might be sligthly less reliable. And nowdays Razer and Logitech has their own switches, Razer seems to hold up well, dunno about logitech, havent got to use one

Romer G switches, they aren't up to Cherry standards, and they only exist for more even backlighting, which it doesn't even fully achieve.
