I hope you are doing this under a ventilation hood or with a mercury-proof respirator. As the "whiskers" of aluminum-mercury amalgam form, the total surface area of exposed mercury will increase drastically, causing a much larger output of toxic metcury vapor than would the glob of mercury alone.

Could mercury in vaccines mix with aluminum from the vaccines to create this in our bodies? Just curious. I heard that somewhere.

I came across a pretty good amount of mercury this past Saturday. I bought a huge tub at a auction for 5 bucks that had about 20 breakers in it. I wanted them for resale or silver contacts.. The rest where little clear plastic boxes, with metal backings. They have one single wire coming out of each box with a brass connector. I thought they were some sort of light, for a semi trailer, being that they were similar in size as the little lights that are on big rig trailers.. Well I took the two screws out and noticed a oddly shaped fuse, which I’ve never seen fuses like this before. Under that was a little tube of mercury.. So I’m guessing they are some type of vintage switch. Anyway I have a couple hundred of these, and I’m wondering what to do with them. Idk if there’s a scrap value or not, I’ll have to look into it. Any ideas, I’d appreciate your opinion.. thanks

I think you got a really good deal on the mercury. The mercury fuses seem like they are rare so they probably have some value to the right person. You might have to get an appraisal. But overall you got a fantastic deal.
