Loma will always be my all time favorite fighter. So talented ppl forget he is well above his weight class. Doesn’t rehydration clause anyone and gets in there and fights without fear using skill but not running away.

Considering that Loma stated that he wanted to retire after the Haney robbery, and only went for another belt to appease his Father; why should he give the scumbags in the business of Boxing what they want? With Tank aging him out, and Stevenson being the obvious favorite in a torch-passing fight, it's an annoying thing to witness. In regards to Stevenson being underappreciated... the name of the game is "make 'em miss and make 'em pay", not "make 'em miss and run away". Lomanchenko will probably still fight these guys though.

Idk about Gervontae, at 135 that’s a dangerous fight for Loma. That fight at 130 should of happened years ago, but Mayweather was trying to mold the next him.

Loma is the only one to win all the belts at lightweight individually. He has talked of retiring, and now is a good time to go. At the top as a world champion. No point fighting another young American and get robbed by the judges. Unless the Saudi sheikh comes up with a lucrative offer to make it worth it to Loma. Loma deserves it for all the joy he has brought to the boxing world.

It was a good win and he got his hands on a belt but I really think he should retire at the top.. although there were flashes of his skill and explosiveness, you could clearly see that Loma has slown down a lot.. I don’t want to see him get used for his name. Loma is under appreciated by some but true boxing fans know he was a once in a generation talent

I don't think it's Loma's last fight. There was a hot mic moment at the post-fight presser between Egis and Bob that makes me think there are further plans. Too much Saudi money in boxing for retirement. As far as George, why should he retire? There is no shame in that loss and he is respected as a guy who may not win them all but fights them all. He can have a lucrative career as The Aussie Gatti.

Paulie is right Loma does not get enough credit he fought for a title in i think it was his third pro fight. Only boxer i can think even close to that was leon spinks who had seven pro fights when he faced Ali. That's still a four or six round fighter. I think loma might have fought a scheduled ten in his first bout.🥊

Hi Paulie, Always love your content even when we disagree and props for fighting bareknuckle. I don't follow it, but I don't follow any sport but boxing and it looks like you're getting your adrenaline fix with it. So I agree with pretty much everything you say in this video, but the question was, do I want to see Stevenson vs Lomachenko? Well ok then: I agree that out of current-gen potential ATGs from 135 - 147 (to include "Kur", Tank, Teo, etc...) Stevenson is probably the best and I'd have Stevenson as the favorite vs Loma now-today and increasingly so as time passes, but not by much and especially if it happens within the year. Stevenson has not fought anybody even remotely approaching Lomachecko's level while Loma has fought guys near to "Kur"more than once. That said the decision could very well be a dodgy one. If Stevenson wins it will be a DEI win like the Haney's "win" or "Kur" will stink out the joint to get it done legit. So do I want to see that? Will I spend a hundred bucks on such a PPV? Probably not if it happens in Vegas. Do it in Mexico D.F. or Tokyo. Even New york or London, but not Vegas.

notice the difference in mentality in their interviews. george kept calling it a 'war' and that they're 'warriors'. Loma said "for him it is war, for me it is competition, it is art". and it's clear in how they fight, george is all about being tough and his technique is zero, he kept swinging himself into southpaw and getting punched in the face while trying to get back into orthodox lol. lomachenko is a true sportsman

Lomo even at his age is still a top 5 fighter . None of Lomo fights even with his losses is a breeze. Devin loss but won teofima was debatable. Lomo still a top dawg. Hands down best footwork n boxing and measuring shots

Navarrete fights for the vacant WBO next week 5/18 . The winner will likely face Loma. Stevenson defends his belt in July. He will have another fight, maybe in Newark, and then face the Loma-Navarrete winner imo 9:40

I think the Stevenson fight gets made due to them both being with Top Rank . I do think that would be a cash out for Lomachenko. Stevenson is very good, young and has also grown into the lightweight division much better than Loma physically ever did.

@@FightSportTalk loma is too smart to fall into a tank trap, but he does come close enough to get hit. Dangerous. I agree shakur is the nightmare who can’t hurt you, but hits well enough to get respect. I think shakur will get back to fighting close enough to hit and still not get hit, i don’t think he’ll run like he did against ortiz. He was embarrassed and he’s 2-handed this time.

Stevenson is just too big for Lomachenko - look at the natural size difference. At that size, all you gotta do is spam body shots, left hooks to the head - you don't even have to fully land, Loma's gonna move back because of the force. I agree Stevenson is 'HIM' tho. Stevenson will clean house and nobody wants that cos he's so boring and runs.

I love Loma's style and deeply admire his skill level, but I think given he's fighting way above his natural weight and even though he still looks great, he's not getting any younger, and so I think Shakur and Tank are very very tough and dangerous fights for him. I could see him grab another belt, but doubt he can unify before retiring, unfortunately. I hope he proves me wrong.

Tank Devis best fits for Lomachenko, cause same height, reach and natural weight between fights. If it was 6 years ago Tank would have been outclassed. Now, when loma 36 it might be more closer fight

I just wished boxing had more of the MMA type mentality for match making. Let's make Shakur vs Tank, let's make Shakur vs Loma, let's make Loma vs Tank, there will be winners and losers and that's ok, but we get to see who's the best vs cherry picking Loma now that he's approaching the end. It's always left a bad impression for me and I can't get this invested into pro boxing because of it.

I noticed the same thing, how Tank wants Loma now that he's turned 80 years old.😂😂f*****g ridiculous. I don't like Stevenson for Loma, I don't think that fight makes any sense, it's too late for a fight like that, at this point of Loma's career, unless it's a cash out.

Many of you sound like clowns. Now all of a sudden tank only wants Lomo because Lomo is old? I have inside knowledge of boxing. Floyd and Arum both were the reason that fight didn't happen. If that's your energy, canelo made an entire career is ducking people or wasting for them to get to old. Have up his belts to avoid GGG in his prime and have up his belt to Charlo. Canelo even made up his own weight division of 155 to avoid all smoke at 154 and 160 at that time. We don't even have to bring up the judges, refs, chlembuterol and even more. So miss us with that bullshit

Problem for Loma is he wont stop Stevenson which he'd have to because if he outpointed him theres no way he'd be given the decision against Top Ranks young undefeated man. Boxing politics etc.

In the early 2000's the New Jersey Devils was that defensive team that most of the casual public didn't want to see win cause of their success defensively! Obviously can't boycott a team. But the NHL made sure to adjust their rules, so their playing style don't push away fans to affect the TV ratings 😉

Credit to Loma but once Loma figures out his opponent doesn't have enough power to hurt him,he does what he did last night,when he fought Lopez,Teo showed him that power early in the fight,and it changed Lomas game plan for the rest of the fight,Tank has that power to the same thing,highly doubt it will happen,Old Bob arum will go out of his way to set up an in house fight

It's difficult to use Loma as a measurement stick tho cos even someone like Linares who is technically and fundamentally very good , often at times looked like a novice facing Loma 😂😂

Someone must convince Loma to go down to 130. Finish his career down there and maybe he can toy with people on his way out. He won't be ducking anyone + he deserves it. He's too small for 135 and it was only fair because he was so good. Since he's slowed down a bit, he should move down.

Paulie a lot of those body shots were blocked - watch in slow motion if you have too. Same with Haney out of the so-called 50 body shots record by inaccurate compubox ONLY 15 actually got through. The rest were blocked others he missed target or grazed

I partly agree and partly disagree about Paulie saying Lomachenko fighting elite from when he turned pro. I think he made that attempt but it’s a little convienient that right after a loss in his second fight and next picking up a title with a good win over Russel jr, he went on that two year 4 fight run of very low level competition. You can claim he was being avoided as much as you can claim he did it on purpose TO adjust to pro fighting. He didn’t have problems before or after that getting at least decent opponents

I think Loma will do the best job of challenging Shakur's natural ring savvy. It does not seem shakur has enough pop to keep Loma off of him so the only path for Loma to win would be to turn the clock back for at least 7 rounds. He will need to empty the gas tank and the question is whether he does that early or later.
