Hi everybody! 💖 Let me show you around Harajuku, Tokyo! Sadly, so many shops closed down during the pandemic. Fortunately, some of my Harajuku favorites are still here to stay. / rainbowholic

Note: I went on a weekday (around 1-2PM) that’s why it wasn’t too crowded. This was filmed last April 2022.
Harajuku is kinda big so I wasn’t able to fully cover everything (Cat Street / Ura-harajuku). Please let me know in the comments if you’d like a walking tour of these places! ^^

Wow Takeshita Street is so empty right now! It’s so sad! pandemic almost destroy the street vibe! I’ll miss old 2017/2018 Takeshita Street like forever. Same as Akihabara and their iconic Sega building

Thanks for the tour! I was slightly less excited about going back to Harajuku since some of my favourite stores closed (RIP Listen Flavor 😭 - at least they still have an online shop), so it's good to see there's still lots of good stuff there!

Just be sure to research on lots of stuff in Japan, someone I know went there and got followed by men 🙁 but other than that they said they enjoyed it

Feeling so nostalgic looking at this video! T.T I used to go to Harajuku so frequently when I lived in Tokyo. Thank you for the tour Kaila, I loved that you went to Eiswelt Gelato, I got the bunny cone and it was super delicious and kawaii!

Hello :) I'm from Los Angeles, it's 7 PM here. I liked seeing the videos of the stores from the street, it reminded me of the fashion district of LA, but with more interesting clothing. I really enjoy seeing cities from the perspective of people living there. I probably won't visit Japan, but if the opportunity arises I wouldn't mind going.

Wow, everything looked so good but I really liked the BT21 section of the Line Friends store tour and seeing your cute character ice cream. The crepes in Japan are so good! I had some in Shimokita, but that's because the lines in Harajuku were so intimidating to me 😅

Hi Kaila! Thanks for the video - its super sad seeing how so many shops have closed. It would be lovely if you could consider doing voice-overs or talking bits? Your writing voice is really clear/distinct in your blog posts etc and it would be cool to hear you speak or share things about your favourite places/foods in harajuku.

SO many iconic stores like Liz Lisa and WOC and the contacts place, and BODYLINE...!!! I always love seeing the creps, too!! Much love

Weird i was living in japan during the pandemic and there wasn’t many closed stores, this must have happened after a year of their borders being closed 😢 so sad to see, but it makes way for new brands to come in so I hope the empty stores will fill with new unique brands ❤
