UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

If difficulty increases to a limit it benefits serious candidates eliminating non serious ones But if it keeps on increasing and getting wage it brings a well prepared and an unprepared candidate to same level of guesswork :)

I won't deny that just before the prelims you posted a video about get ready for something that will surprise you in the paper, n after that I had this mindset that yes something unexpected can happen, which helped me to stay motivated , although I haven't cleared the prelims but I m thankful that I m not demotivated after my very first attempt .

The options have changed. That changes everything. Earlier it was easy to make intelligent guess. Now you need to know each and every statement to mark the correct option. I bet you cannot solve the same question with 2 different option schemes.

U each and every point is correct sir... I am suffering for not having a good environment in joint family where parents are not aware about this exam and also I am not sticking on a one plan my mood changed frequently when I show anybody's stragey because of not having call atmosphere 😢

i quitted my preparation just after my first attempt in 2023 . please make a video on how to gain the confidence back and give upsc one more time. one more reason i quitted my prep coz i prepared for upsc from delhi and just few months before i met so many people who were in there 5 attempt and 6th attempt and i also saw them quitting after there 6th attempt or going back to there hometown. i really got demotivated and don't want to end up like them. now i want to get back on track .pls make a video on repeaters and who quitted or got demotivated. currently i have given few iim interview this year. corporate sector is good but it is not something i want to do. should i join a iim or do something in which i have more chance of failure.

How to read books ?when I read say gc Leong if I read an make notes it stays in my brain but if I’m trying to finish the whole book at a slow place and adding notes consistently I don’t think I will never finish :(

Don't make notes in the first reading. Notes can be made in 2nd / 3rd reading.

5-6 months if you can practice for 1-2 hours a day - you should be able to clear the cutoff. I'm not saying you'll score 100+ but in that time period, if you put in serious effort it can be done.

No not everyone need, if any one is comfortable with concepts of ncert up to 12th std then easily manageable standard sources. People who have issue in basic concepts and want to continue from grass root then definitely go for coaching. Otherwise standard book + test paper + pyq + toppers copy +honesty with self sufficient for preparation

You might not need classes per se, but you would require at least a good test series for some consistent feedback on performance. Steps: 1. Cover NCERTs 2. Cover basic books 3. Give test after each subject completed 4. In case of low test score, repeat book till the score improves. 5. Next subject.

Encouraging video. Failed 2023 prelims by around 2 questions in CSAT because of my own mistake. Please please please make a series of videos on pre-pyq analysis and how to see pattern for wrong options for those last 10 to 20 marks by guess work. Don't make 30 mins single video but keep it long and analyse multiple UPSC pre papers from various exams conducted by UPSC for better understanding.

Sir i need your one line guidance... sir i never studied seriously for upsc.. i taken it for granted . Just chilled everytime enjoyed my time... but i m capable of clearing it in one attempt.. i m good in academics from very first day... last year i quit upsc and started to prepare for bank exams.. because i thought m not serious about it so no need to waste time... but now i got to know my friend who is preparing for same got interview call.. i didn't know that I cried alot and all my memories revived and urge to clear upsc came Bt now i m into rbi grade b much more .. attached But also that urge to clear upsc is kicking me But when i imgine after life of clearing exm ki rbi m km pressure hoga 9-5 hogi Upsc m image bnake rkhni hogi pressure b hoga M more into rbi grade b But that fire to clear upsc is still in me.. ki usse phle ekbari m krke dikha dugi use b sbko b ..... pls help me in guidance 🙏🙏

@Jollygirl99 Never go for clearing UPSC to show someone or to get a job. Clear it for public service else be at the place where you are because UPSC is not a job. There should be inner motivation to handle the work pressure and everything.
