I have to agree with you that driving those tug tractors are fun. Years ago I use to work at MIA (Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida) and I loved getting the job to either do bag transfers (inbound to outbound) to dropping local bags at the baggage claims. A lot more space that being in the cargo hold of passenger planes loading or unloading flights. Plus, it was hard for me to keep up with the guys that are normally in the plane's cargo holds stacking bags there because they are so much stronger and have a lot more upper body muscles than me. I also did ticketing while I worked at the airport there. I didn't like that as much because of rude ass passengers and always being asked over and over the same questions that people could answer themselves if they would open their eyes and read signs. It is a lot easier dealing with baggage because they are always polite and it was always nice to see pets being sent in the cargo holds. I would have kept my airline job for longer but it doesn't pay nearly as much as I make now operating bulldozers and a part time job at the local hospital as a LPN.

is it hard to apply? Is the job super hard?
@ramsesmorales9151
@ramsesmorales9151 2 жыл бұрын
@@lastyrover6387 Is not hard to apply but it also depends on which airport you are applying to and the companies that do that job. Large size airports tend to have more companies hiring, as the demand is greater. The jobs is physically demanding for sure as you have to stack 50 lbs bags while bent on your knees inside the airplane. But you do get breaks between the flights at times so you can rest. It is a very rewarding job and great experience for sure! I would recommended the job to anyone, specially if you have interest in the aviation industry. But if you're back isn't good or health then might not be the right fit. Hope this helps!

@@lastyrover6387 I found it a bit stressful at the beginning but as time went by and I became a lot comfortable with the job then it wasn't as stressful. Maybe consulting with a health professional might be helpful before you apply for the job. Also you could probably find more information online about what ramp agents do or even watch some KZfaq videos and get a better idea and go from there. It doesn't hurt to try and if it wasn't for you then that's okay too in my opinion. Also they have leads on site, and like supervisors that you could always ask if you don't know what you're doing. Normally they're going to make you do what you're trained for or know how to do. Sorry, that's the best I could do. Wish you well!

This is the Marshaller, they help the captain identify the gate, and then wave them forward for parking at their gate. The ramp agents outside your windows when you’re a passenger (who you see walking outside holding wands) are the wing walkers. Marshallers work with Wing Walkers to make sure nothing strikes the plane while it’s parking.

This video is amazing! I loved it! This question is likely in the comments, so please forgive that I didn’t read through them all, but is being a ramp agent flexible? Is it semi possible to get someone to cover your shift if you need? How and is it possible to get days off? I would never miss a scheduled shift, I’m an actor though, so flexibility is always pull for me when looking for jobs. Lmk, thanks!

Also driving the TUG as fast as possible and seeing what you can do with them is fun. I personally fructose mine more like it is a BMW, and have you ever tried drifting a plane with a pushback?
