I started in October of last year and it's not even close to breaking into an income. I've watched every publisher's advice. I follow their tips to the letter but nothing has broken through just yet. I'm hoping for a better Q4. I'm just not sure if my keywords are working. There are so many different ways people describe how they do keywords. Just when I think I have it, I still see no results.

@@SoChicagoAries you pay Amazon “per click”. Amazon gives you a scale of fees to chose from per click then tells you what fee per click will generate enough interest to gain a buyer (that’s not how they word it, but that’s how it goes) so it would be “$0.67 to $1.89 per click” but recommended start would be “$1.25 per click”. I can’t remember exactly how much I pick per click, but I capped it at 10 clicks per day and it was over $1 a click. I got two purchases from one click and like I said, got instant ranking on the best seller list and rank in the section I chose to list it in. It’s a good time to make 2022 planners, so I think investing in marketing for something like that to get it to catch onto the algorithm and get it rank, it could pay out exponentially if you get one or two high selling books. Edit to add: I didn’t understand how the cost of printing and royalties worked when I priced my notebooks and I actually lost 12 cents. Also, I haven’t been marketing, so I haven’t sold anything else. Marketing is key.

“The long game” Your kidding from starting low content to earning a good living was achieved in a lot less time than sitting a degree. I might be late to the “long game” but I uploaded a dozen low content book last week to start with and we’ll see how it goes. If I could earn £2000 per month selling books, I’d be one happy guy. I’d be able to go on more adventures without having to clock in or out. Sounds too good to be true. We’ll see :)

Hi Rachel. Thanks for the video and congratulations on these incredible results! What you have is is probably a dream life for millions. I come from India, where after an engineering and MBA degree, I earn a 'decent' salary, which is 1500 dollars a month, which is dream for many in India. If I can create a passive income of more than that, I would really thank myself! At present I am just focusing on work ethics, trying to produce as many good quality low content books as possible in the first six months, and think about money later😊

Hi Rachel. Love your stuff. Your eyeline is very close to the bottom of your painting, which is compositionally awkward. With two hooks you can lower the painting as a backdrop and then return it to a normal position for real life. Everything else, lighting (ring?) video quality, jumpcuts, audio, performance, content, concision are top-shelf. The painting is cool too, it is just the eyeline that I find distracting. Thanks for the coaching! We are getting a lot of benefits from it. Best wishes.

Hi Rachel, I've recently started publishing on kdp and I think I could be going about it all wrong. It's taking me quite a long time to create my books as everything is my own created content and it's more on the highly content then lower content side. Not novel high, but quite a lot packed in if you know what I mean as opposed to low content (notebook / journal / line paper) kind of thing. I hope I'm making sense? and sorry to ramble ... but I'd love your take on if you think low content is more the way to go and also do you do all your books in black/white or colour? TIA x

I achieved those numbers my second and third year 2015 and 2016. Sales started going down in 2017 with the flood of competition coming in. Then 2018 was rough as literally thousands of new people came in.. With some keyword changes and marketing some of my original best sellers are back in the game. It’s important to always adapt to the changes.. ❤️🧡💜

Thanks for your comment, you're right-it's always important to adapt to the changes! There have been many changes on KDP over the last few years, and if you don't adapt, you'll be left in the dirt. I've had to shift my focus several times, as niches that I used to do well in are now too competitive. But that's when I've turned to new niches and markets to pick up the slack. I'm glad your top sellers are back in the game after a few tweaks! :)

I watched another video on low content books and the lady made it look like it cost nothing to do this and it’s basically free income. Can you tell me if there are hidden fees after posting on amazon? For example the other lady said she would post a book for around $8 and amazon would charge $4-5 to print the book leaving her with a $3-4 royalty is that really all it is? I guess it hasn’t clicked in my head yet that you can post something for free unless the $4-5 that Amazon is charging making you’re royalty amount smaller (not actually taking money from you or charging you’re account) is more then the price of actually printing the book so they are also making small royalties that add up for every sale. I know she mentioned a website that cost $20 a month that has all the keywords, images and everything to make the low content books, but other then that have you paid anything else?

In 2022 I doubt this is possible…you were in a far less flooded marketplace but congratulations!

Rachel harrison-Sund is not coming up in Amazon Books at all. What "nom de plume" are you using for your publishing? I think your videos informative and your enthusiasm is infectious. Thanks for the KZfaqs.

When you say you were putting in daily work, what does that mean? Marketing, if so, how? Social Media marketing ads? Email marketing?

Thank you for the video. Do you run any ads? Have you informed your fiction subscribers that you have started publishing organisers and planners?

This was awesome! Thank you! Curiously, did you advertise your LCB at all? I publish fiction and the sales seem to taper after launch unless I advertise. Would you say LCB is a different ball game to some degree? Sounds like, unlike fiction, LCB are like fine wines, they mature over time? Would you say that's accurate?
