Everyone who is recovering from or adjusting to idea that they may be living with an eating disorder is amazing. Eating disorders only ever pick on fighters, and self love and self acceptance are some of the many things that you gain as you go on your recovery journey. We can beat these internal bullies, deprive yourself of solitude and isolation and you’ll be on to a winner. Your eating disorder wants you to its self.

I just want to say - the fact that you can eat so independently shows how much you are smashing recovery. It is a journey, but your ability to go places with friends and eat at your boyfriends, that is something so many people struggle to do, because eating with family becomes safe. You are doing amazing, you are amazing x

I just can try to imagine what period body image must be like for someone with ed background. I'm totally fine with my body normally, but on my period I sometimes don't want to look at me in the mirror. So... you're really not alone and even ed free people get insecure and uncomfortable in that time. You're strong :)

I feel like people don’t talk enough about how difficult dealing with periods can be during and after ED recovery. I’ve been recovered for over 3 years now, but still my TOM can really set me back mentally. However, reminding myself there’s a very real reason (hormones etc) my brain and body feel different helps ever so slightly. Keep going with your recovery journey ❤️

@Sakina.Y

To the lovely Ro: When I saw the notification for this video I beamed, I was so proud and excited for you. I’ve been following your recovery since about month 3. To see how many hurdles you’ve jumped, fear-foods you’ve faced and milestones you’ve marked have been nothing short of a privilege to witness. I’ve seen you go from using the same heart shaped, white bowl and childhood spoon with the red plastic handle for practically every meal without fail; to not knowing what vessel or utensils I’ll see in the next clip; to witnessing the first time in a long while that your parents made you a cup of tea or a meal. I can’t tell you how proud I am to see you finally fuel yourself with confidence. I love watching you increasingly become the you-est you. A fully self-actualized, adult you, a you with increasingly full freedom, a you with happiness and contentment, and a you that has enough grace, self love and compassion to assert and honor your needs whatever they may be. I know you still have a ways to go; but my goodness the ground you’ve covered is immense. We both know that any form of recovery and healing has its peaks and valleys; and by no means is recovery linear. One thing that I can say, is that the next valley, whenever and however it may be, you have set yourself up in such a way that the next valleys will always be at a higher set point than your last. Long story short my dear, well done. Thank you for sharing your journey and imparting your support, advice and nuggets of wisdom. Much love to you, Ro. Here’s to more happiness, improvement and many more opportunities to live life to the fullest. ❤️ -Sakina

Oh my!!!! Ro, my day was going alright and after no! Whilst watching this video my feeling/emotions was uplifted, as it always is when I watch your videos. I'm soo happy to hear and see you are in this place in n your recovery where you can talk about how you feel, how you wan to be doing so much better and that you don't give a f* what you do( not negative stuff of course). I love it so much. You seriously seriously...have my day so much comforting and reassuring. I do want to not give a f* when my eating disorder is telling to do this or that. I can do it too right?!?! And I have before. You are the kindest soul, thank you thank you so much for being your true self, your taking the risk, your going for it now, for trusting yourself and others. Aaaww...I do really appreciate it all. It was really lovely to see you so emotional throughout the day(teary, excited and silly). I just Crave that hahaha... On the note, glad you did crave chocolate too tehehe. Also, I loved that you do expect whatever you Mum presents you with as a snackie..ive actually let others decide for me when I can't make a decision, it's not only helpful but it's fun in some ways...tehehe. So so proud of you Roisin. I admire you so much(I've said it many many times but I do). Thank you for always being the best, honest, real, caring, cautious, loving, cute, intelligent, wise, talent, funny, open, interesting, beautiful self! I wish you only the best of the best..and your Mum is the sweetest coolest gal ever haha, she's soo supportive and caring. Love you loads🖤👊🥊🗣️☺️🧘👍🍌🍎🥣🍫🍪🏡🎥📚🆓☮️
