Zeus is so adorable and very smart and so sweet the one thing I wish I knew before we got our German Shepherds was all the hair that they shed it's amazing how much hair they shed other than that we are very pleased with our sweet boys they are very precious to us we love our German Shepherds and Malinois 🤗❤

We "adopted" a 5 month old Shepard from a family member of one of my wifes' friends. That dog is always on "11"! He will play ball *all day*. He enjoys our 2 acres and especially the pond. We get him down to the 100 Acre Woods by the local university where we do a 2.5 mile woods walk with more water (he's a natural wayer dog). This tires him out for a couple hours and he's back at it! I can't believe how well he minds. He's such a good dude! Friendly to other people and animals. Super smart dog. I actually believe that he looks at me to "read" visual cues, etc. I had my doubts about him during the first month he came into our family fold. He's now 10 months old and we love him so!

Just lost my 12 yr male GSD Jackson. Canine ALS. Watching your sweet handsome boy makes me smile.

Last nite I lost 2 prs socks, the hood and breast pocket of a coat, 2 washcloths, and pound of hamburger thawing out on the counter lol. Gotta love em.

All my GSDs have never bitten my butt. When they were puppies when the went to bite me I make the exact noise a puppy makes when it's crying then offer the puppy my hand again and they wouldn't bite it. It worked and none of them ever bit me anywhere. You must socialise them as puppies, get them used to everything and everyone, other dogs and animals, adults, the neighbours kids, even babies. The only time one of my GSDs ever showed any sign of aggression was one late evening out for his last cock a leg walk, he refused to move, started growling and showing his teeth to a guy standing in the road. The following morning I found out the guy was a burglar and got caught 😂. They are very good judges of character.

German shepherds can actually be really unpredictable sometimes. And they aren't trusting to strangers as well which is probably why people ask if they're going to bite them. No one's asked me that yet, mainly cause they cross the street while I'm walking Siggi my GSD. Who is reactive. She's never bitten before but I wouldn't put it past her if someone's off leash dog ran up on us. There was an incident a year back involving another dog on a walk with us. She's also probably has past issues cause we picked her up from a shelter. But she's the biggest love bug at home.

My shepherd Frank ate wife's shoes and 3 seatbelts and the back of my drivers seat right around when he was 1...and after that he went on to digging holes you could put basketballs in..today no more chewing and holes, he just stopped one day all on his own..

my 10 month old female has taught herself to go in the bathroom and stand up to the sink and she pulls the lever on the faucet when she"s thirsty... she hasnt learned how to turn it back off when shes done.

They are extremely reactive. I have 2 mixed breeds, but I wouldn't have it any other way. They love to be working all the time. They are always on alert, but they are very protective. You must get the right training from the start and they will make the best pet! You must be the Alpha. They have never bitten or attacked, but I think if they thought I was in danger, they would not hesitate to attack.

I just adopted my foster 3 year old GSD mix from the shelter. He hasn’t tried biting my butt, but he has mouthed my boob and I let out a scream because I really thought he was gonna chomp down, but my scream sounded like a yelp and he let go. He occasionally still tries getting mouthy with me but usually on the arm or hand. Working on stopping this.

We had dogs for many years, we taught our daughter to always ask permission before reaching out to a dog. You will be amazed, the number of time she was told, the dog does not do great with kids. So it should not just be certain breeds, today at Home Depot, a woman had a border collie, I asked first, as I had my dog’s scent on me.

Shepherds CAN be sweet and cuddly, if they are socialized properly. If not, they are sweet with their family and possibly dangerous to anyone else. Same can be said of most large breeds. FACT: shepherds are responsible for a disproportionate number of bite reports. This suggests that a fair number are NOT properly socialized. I'd classify Zues's owner as one of these. By letting the puppy bite her repeatedly she's set the stage for later problems. Not for herself, but for others. People who don't understand dogs should not own or raise dogs.
