In this video, I share the crucial mistakes I made when I first ventured into high-yield income investing. Learn from my experience as I highlight what went wrong and the valuable lessons that can help you avoid similar pitfalls. Whether you're new to high-yield investing or looking to refine your strategy, this video offers insights to help you make smarter investment decisions and achieve more consistent results.
I’m a 42 year old American expat that’s been living in China for 14 years. I recently decided that I'd like to retire early abroad and I created this channel to share my journey of investing in high yield income stocks, ETFs, Closed end funds and other methods of creating passive income in order to be able to retire early abroad. I hope that in sharing my journey it may help you in some way achieve your passive income investing goals. Nothing on this channel is meant to be financial advice. This just my own personal retirement journey.

I hate when people bring up taxes like taxes isn’t being paid every time you buy anything.

Yeah it’s kinda annoying. So many Tax “experts”. I’d rather pay taxes and million dollars than pay no taxes on 0 dollars

Not personally invested into Yieldmax, as a Canadian trying to avoid the U.S. with holding taxes, but we have some pretty good high yield options over here now as well. I like your strategy "Dont quit the dayjob" sort of. Keeping real estate, side hustles, businesses etc. going while travelling. Same strategy I will be doing to experiment living off the dividend income within the next year or 2, still currently at dayjob to add rocket fuel to the portfolio. Pretty soon it will have lift off to self-sustain let the dividends flow as well as a bit of my real estate and do some travelling :). Subscribed!

I never understood why people scoff at paying 0.30% for an ETF they're making 15% in total returns, but feel comfortable with an ETF that charges 0.05% and they're only making 6%.

I want to diversify into high yield types: covered call eqities, covered call treasuries, reits, bdrs and mystery etfs (svol). Right now I like reits and svol.
@TheDividendNomad

I think SVOL is one of the best. Longer track record and very consistent for living off of

I set up a computer program that shows what a 1000 invested in each fund returns. Remember it's not just yield it's also the price and how many shares you can buy of each ETF. Last month CONY paid the most per share. I also took the top 2x top 3x top 4x top 5x funds to see how many shares and interest paid. Add up your total average yield I found you only drop the monthly return with more funds you have.
@TheDividendNomad
@TheDividendNomad 2 ай бұрын
So you’re saying cony ,nvdy msty,ulty. Those seem to have the highest yields. I know everyone hates ulty but I was thinking on it since it’s cheap and has 100% consistent return. The past performance wasn’t good though but 100% rate of return will return all money in a year if it can continue to stay stable like it has. I like cony because the high yield it moves up in big percentages often 2% per day or more. Gives a chance to grab some profit off the top but still get a nice dividend also.

Mine are all doing alright I'm with you on the overdiversification invest in your winners then spread it out to other ones slowly. If you throw your whole bag at a random one that is not the way to go at all starting out. I personally like buying deep itm options & leaps but they don't always work out but if its money from dividends well no big deal.

I think FEPI is great. I like it a lot , it just don’t support my current goal to build up the amount I want as fast as possible. I do believe it’s great I will buy it again in the future. I’m just not ready for it yet. I need to get my income back up first.

From yieldmax, YMAX seems to be the best , but a few others are performing well now but I’m thinking it’s short term performance. As far as higher yielding ones go , FEPI also seems to be a good one

Apart from the numerous political restrictions in China, particularly internet control, everything else is quite good. For example, food is abundant and affordable, transportation is convenient, and there are many places to shop and have fun. However, with the recent economic downturn, the average person is under a lot of pressure. It is advisable not to provoke strangers casually to avoid becoming a target for others to vent their frustrations.
