I'm almost 11 months out. I don't experience hunger the way I used to (I had RNY). There are times that I feel "empty" but not the hunger I had pre-surgery. I haven't lost any hair, or I should say I haven't lost any more than I did before surgery. I had an excellent surgery team, they told me the complications and that they could be had through-out life. It can be scary, but being 349, where I began there were so many complications - death being a realistic one - that could have happened. LOL - ways to deal with being thin. I made the same joke about He knew what I would wear. I used to go to plus size section and always say I'm in the fat section - it was no big deal because I was fat. Now that I am not fat, it sounds terrible and condescending. I need to change my vocabulary. I did this once and my adult son said "mom, you are not fat anymore". Wow, true. I am blessed. My husband is so supportive and just wants me to be healthy. Due to his health, he can't always join me in different activities, but he supports them all. I am fairly new to your channel and didn't realize you were in Canada. I am in New Hampshire, about 4 hours from the Canadian border. Thank you for the information on how our bodies change when obese, such huge true information! This is also great information on what the experience of socialized medicine is like. Other than social media, I have never heard of a failure rate. You are the first I have heard this from. I did hear that if you are not careful you can gain the weight back, that it is just a tool. But I have never heard "failure rate". My team says a number based on percentage of excess weight to lose and say that as long as you meet this range number it is a success.
