@@Nirual Not really. He doesn't want to help the gurs at all if he is in the party and disapproves of choosing 'I will help you'. When he is alone he says exactly the same thing himself. Seems to me he just loves being contrary and difficult.

@@iamkittybg3 He for sure dislikes it when you say 'If Astarion won't help you, I will'. Though I admit I don't remember if he gives disapproval. You have to convince him by saying it's about revenge, and he generally protests by saying they want him to go into the lion den. That's why it's kinda funny how when he is alone he immediately agrees despite the fact they all act extremely racist and antagonistic towards him. Honestly I hate the gurs. They constantly victim blame Astarion, dehumanize him, want to kill all the spawn but when they learn that their children are also spawn they immediately switch the narrative and act as if the children are fully human victims who deserve all sympathy. Same sympathy they refuse to others. Bunch of hypocrites.

One of the most interesting dialogues without Tav present are shadow hearts main quest decisions, ie, meeting the night song and meeting her parents...she actually does the opposite of what she normally does if you were with her and tell her to make the decision herself

@@iamkittybg3 yes it depends on the approval if you are near shadowheart but if you send her alone to speak to nightsong she kills her every time. If your tav is dead or far from shadowheart's and nightsong's conversations she decides to kill her every time no matter your aprroval

I think she hoped they were being kept as bargaining chips. Like that Cazador would say to the Gur “leave the city and I will give you back your children” or something like that.

They're scared people grasping at whatever hope they can. It's an understandable reaction.

I thought that too and then they had the audacity to turn down my druids mercy when she tried to convince them to turn back. She was not about to let them kill Aster. She told them the truth that he was the lesser evil between him and Cazador , trying to convince them to turn back while they could . The leader spat it back in her face saying evil is evil and he must be destroyed therefore she stood with him and destroyed the remainder of the gurr people. She did not want to but they left her no choice It was them or Aster , and she would choose her love always. Even if she has to go against her principles. ( Mostly good character. strongly disappears of killing innocents. Always tries diplomacy first. )

They aren't letting people into the city and you need a pass to Gortash's coronation (and I think his official approval) to even continue to be inside the city, so I assume the Gur are similarly barred (especially given how racist Faerun is towards them). Doesn't explain how they get inside the palace after you finish the fight against Cazador, but eeehh, at least there's kind of a reason

Gandrel is a cool guy. If you meet him in the Gur camp, he's basically like: I figured out you tricked me after you left, lol. Respect.

I'm pretty sure he knew it was Astarion all along, but he's a kind soul. He's genuinely glad to see Astarion doing well.

It does change things slightly, but not overly. Most of this dialogue stays the same but you get extra interactions with Gandrel

In the first time he thought Gandrel was sent by Cazador so I think he just wanted to be protected doing this. Also he was alone and he said that he needed to take Astarion and deliver to Baldur’s Gate. When Astarion comes to Ulma, they have a different dialogue and she said they tried to deal with Cazador. And Astarion understands that it’s not what he thought before about. Also here a lot of Gurs, not only one Gandrel

Yes, it is. But it's still curious to see that there is such an opportunity in the game.

He was still the one doing a lot of taking. Those 7 thousand sacrifices didn’t catch themselves, y‘know. There are no perfect victims. Being forced to do something means you are DOING something. The Gur recognize Astarion’s situation and offer him mercy in return for his services. You can’t get a deal that’s more fair.

@@MrBensella Doesn‘t change that he DID things. Cazador never cared for how his victims were aquired, he only cared for punishing his spawn for failure to bring him said victims.

Irl if someone forces another person to commit a crime at gun point, tge person holding the gun who comissioned the crime is prosecuted, not the person who was acting under imminent threat... in civilised societies at least. Cazador could litterally assume direct control over his spawn at will and tortured and starved them to force them to comply. You think Astarion wanted to spread his legs for randos to appease Cazador's appatites?

No, Astarion Origin has a dialogue options here. I played as Tav/Durge and left her outside

I think these types of interactions could ONLY take place when it's a major component of a Companion's specific storyline.
