The red guy is Arishem the Judge, one of the more powerful Celestials. Long, long ago, the Celestials visited Earth and experimented on three groups of early hominids. Gamemnon the Gatherer collected the soon-to-be test subjects. Those subjected to Ziran the Tester became the monstrous Deviants. Those experimented on by Oneg the Prober were _seemingly_ released as they were, but bestowed with great potential (the X gene). Nezzar the Calculator imbued his group with great cosmic power, turning them into the Eternals. Also, at some point, Tiamut the Communicator turned upon his fellow Celestials, and was sealed within the Earth as punishment (although he wound up being worshipped by some of the Deviants). Maybe this video shows what if Arishem came back to finish the job? Fun fact: Thanos is an Eternal with a Deviant gene.
