Alt Title: What if Trunks Stayed for the Buu Arc?
Future Trunks, the future warriors introduced during the Cell arc of Dragon Ball Z, left us and didn't return until the Goku Black arc in Dragon Ball Super. But what if that changed, what if Trunks got the chance to stay in the past and grow stronger alongside Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, and the others? Will he be able to ever reunite with his master, Future Gohan? The adventure begins... now!

There's a bit of a scripting error where, right as Zamasu fuses with Trunks Black, you say "Goku Black". Also, before Zamasu is Hakaied, you say that Beerus & Whis go to U8.

@@modelomegatyler Xenoverse Xeno Trunks is implied to be after Goku Black arc according to its DLC, while Heroes there are 2 version of Future Trunks, one is Time Patroller Xeno Trunks that Supreme Kai summoned after the Android defeat, the other is the same DBS Future Trunks post-Goku Black arc. The latter so far only appear in Prison Planet and Hearts arcs.

Yes, power levels felt all over the place in this what if, but overall surprisingly concrete. If Gohan training with Vegeta and Piccolo would be almost enough for Gohan to reach near SSj3 during the 7 year timeskip. Then I think that if Future Trunks was there, atleast Gohan or him would have achieved SSj3 due to their hybrid potential. Also with the no nonsense personality like Trunks, it feels like the Buu arc, the Zamasu Arc, and even possibly the Moro Arc wouldn't really have happened, for the latter i think Trunks would have done some training under the Kais like his canon counterpart. Thus negating Moro entirely...

Vegeta never had access to the unlimited stamina that death brings like Goku had during the 7 Year Timeskip after Cell. That's why Goku was able to go SSJ3.

I don't think Trunks would step aside and give Gotenks a chance to fight Buu a second time. Unlike Gohan, he doesn't get cocky and mess around when he's on top. He'd just go all in to kill Buu.

This is deff my favorite db what if. everything from future trunks being the main character to having him be the one to discover beast works so well. tbh tho it does kiiinda fall off slightly with future gohan staying in the present too as well as attaining beast. i think it would have made more sense narratively for him to stay in his original timeline as it's protector in trunks' absence.

I just dont see ssj2 Gohan losong to Buu after training for 7 years. Even if it isn't intense training. He is likely as strong as ssj3 Goku as a ssj2. Or perhaps he is as strong as ultimate Gohan just as a ssj2 (and we know transformations consume energy)

Its fun theory crafting until you realize that Super Perfect cell couldn't be defeated until after Trunks is killed His presence at the tournament was the causal loop. Since imperfect cell was looking for a Trunks to steal the time machine from in the future, but couldn't be found He would have had to deal with Cell in his own time then come back at the risk of more causality issues. Chief among them being that there are two Trunks in existence within the same time. We struggle with immigration problems in this reality, one from a different space and time? It's only a matter of time before some government figures the Saiyan influence is rolling too thick and needs correcting

great what if story overall, definitely a cinematic masterpiece. The only problem i have with it though is even if trunks stayed in the past he wouldn't just become the main character like the video. If he stayed im pretty sure only some things turn out different but the story wouldnt just focus on him as a whole.

My only critiques is that Trunks being in the preasent impacted the ToP alot more than I think it would have, I really doubt it would have changed from being goku and frieza needing to team up, also fusion has been used imo due to trunks not being as strong as goku and vegeta showing that it might as well have ended the same as the original
