Even though you have the intent, mind still doesn't want to investigate itself. Just go back to the intent while you go to the movies or whatever and cease struggling. Ramana Maharshi would say something like "just cease struggling because the struggling keeps the struggle itself going". Realizing that struggling is the struggle is pretty funny; actually, the word "struggle" itself is a funny sounding word...!

One cannot subside into self through relaxing, that does not work as focusing on breath doesn't work.
