So, personally, I have four scenarios in which Lightning would not end up in Radiator Springs. 1. Lightning listened to Mac and took a break at the truck stop. This is the least likely scenario, as McQueen was known to be impatient during this time. He wanted to get to California before Chick. 2. Street racers just never show up. They wouldn't disturb Mac, and he wouldn't fall asleep completely. 3. Street racers would still appear, but the souvenir either does not fall, or falls and does not hit the button. 4. The street racers still show up and make fun of Mac, and the souvenir still falls and opens the back door. However, as McQueen slowly slides towards the edge of the door, he immediately wakes up and begins to panic, which wakes up Mac. This forces street racers to quickly leave before they are caught. Mack apologizes for being asleep and successfully takes Lightning to California. The last three scenarios are much more likely than the first.

@@Carzitoon Well, I'd rather scenario 4 have the street racers show up and the souvenir would still fall on the button, but when Lightning slowly rolls down to the edge of the door, he immediately wakes up and starts to panic, which wakes Mack up. It's a little strange that he didn't wake up, but this is a cartoon, not real life. 😁

What I like about the first movie especially is the symbolism of what King and Chick stand for. Chick is what McQueen would’ve became had he never went to Radiator Springs and didn’t slow down and enjoy life and Jackson Storm in Cars 3 is seemingly heading in that direction that McQueen was going down initially but he may be too far gone at this point. King represents what McQueen would eventually become, and older but much respected winner and veteran who enjoys the little things of life and isn’t as self centered like Chick and Storm are.

Mcqueen would have died because in cars 2 that one car who put the bomb on mater would have likely put it on another car and theen the whole UK would have exploded and everyone would have died

He would have been able to escape after being ordered by Doc to fix the road (as shown in the movie), but the townspeople would never have taken some of his gas?

If McQueen had returned the way he came instead of turning left at the intersection, he might have missed out on the transformative experiences and friendships he gained in Radiator Springs. Without those interactions, his perspective on racing and life might not have changed, potentially leading to a different outcome when ordered by Doc to fix the road. As for the townspeople not taking some of his gas, it could have altered their perception of him and affected the dynamics of their relationship throughout the story. What do you think would have been the biggest consequences of these changes?

@@Carzitoon I think that in scenario 2 (if McQueen, when he fled the city, could still find his way to the Interstate), his next problem will be not knowing the exact place where he is going. All that was ever said in the movie was that the final race was held in California, but it is a very large state. Mack knew where to go, but Lightning probably wouldn't bother to study the address or the route, because he would think it was Mack's work, not his.
