I could see a common ancestor for the Gen 9 Doggos (Dachsbun Mabosstiff and Houndstone) It could be called something like Wolvarious (I had a bit of trouble coming up with the name lol) Wolvarious evolves to Dachsbun by adapting to help in farming villages. It helps in wheat farms, and overtime, it adapts to help the wheat grow. The smell of the wheat becomes one with its body during adaptation, which helps the wheat grow faster. Wolvarious evolves into Mabosstiff by adapting to life in dark, and sometimes harsh environments. It attempted many times to try and steal the hearts of trainers, in hopes of being by their side. The attempts fail, however, so Wolvarious spends time with others of its kind, like a gang. Their new gang-like lifestyle causes them to evolve into Masbosstiff. It still has a nice personality deep down, however. Lastly, Wolvarious evolves into Houndstone after an event which separated it from its trainer. In an attempt to find its way home to its beloved trainer, it sadly perishes from exhaustion and starvation. It’s soul was able to make it back to its trainer, however, who is devastated and misses their partner deeply. The soul, upon seeing this, tries to find a way to come back to its trainer in a new life. This leads to it finding many ways to reunite with its trainer, until it wanders into a graveyard. It goes inside, upset about not finding a way to reunite with its best friend, then slowly sinks inside a tombstone from its sorrow. It’s then reborn as Houndstone, who happily goes back to be with its trainer, both happy as can be to be reunited. This comment is probably insanely long now so I’m gonna end it off here lol.

I really like the idea of common ancestor Pokémon. But I still absolutely love the paradoxes, I mean it gave us slither wing, that quickly became a top 5 fav of mine. So a mix of both I think would be the best. Getting old versions of single Pokémon which a few common ancestors Also a common ancestor between delphox and Zoroark (my top two favorite Pokémon of all time) would be really nice

A common ancestor for the pikaclones as they already share enough traits to make it believable. If the other paradox mons were given multiple descendents Scream Tail: Small wings on its back resembling clefairy along with black ear tips. The hair is becomes more dream mist like and it has purple paws to reference the munna line. All three evolve with the moon stone and 2/3 use sleep based moves. Brute Bonnet: Make the pokeball patterns glow like Shiinotic when fighting along with having the limbs extend like breloom with legs like Toedscruel. Slither Wings:Antenna and an additional for coat near the neck like frosmoth. Also could see spikes and maybe a pinkish tail like wurmple as it already has traits of a pre-evolution. Sandy Shocks: Already has the iron fillings of Probopass/A-geodude but I could see the arm magnets resemlbing the giant magnet on A-golem's back. Also traits of Klingklang with the magnets being visibly different sizes along with a "belt" made of debris. Flutter Mane: Probably the hardest to explain but since Roaring moon gains traits of mega salamenfr have flutter mane gain traits of G-max hatterene with a cage like lower body and the gem stones around the neck being closer to Hatternes. Also have two of the hair piece function as hands like gourgiest. Roaring Moon: A tail like club of Kommo-mo along with scale patterns. Could see axe like red tipped formations near the rave along with red-tipped claws like Haxours

Amazing video! The Cetacean and Hippo ancestors were quite cool and well developed, plus in general the concept links multiple species o_o Another series of ancestors could be: True Dragons: Tatsugiri, the Applin line, Drampa, the Dratini line, the Charmander line, the Bagon line, Druddigon and the Deino line (they would likely be Lepidosaurs, either in Laterata, or within Toxicofera as the sister group of Varanids and Snakes). Land Fairy Echinoderms (credits to Bird Keeper Toby): the Ralts line, the Charcadet line, the Pawniard line, the Flabebe line, the Tinkatink line, Mawile, Klefki and Comfey, among others. More distantly they would be related to most Plant Pokémon (except for the likes of Venusaur, Torterra and so on), and the likes of Starmie, Toxapex, Pyukumuku and Pincurchin. Non-Mammalian Synapsids: the Bulbasaur line, both Nidoran lines, the Slowpoke line, the Rhyhorn line, Kangaskhan, the Whismur line, the Axew line, the Noibat line and perhaps the Frigibax line (either a Spinosaur or Dimetrodon). Keep up the good job! :D

No worries! Forgot to mention that the Pseudo Plants and Fairies might have descended from Cradily or a sister species, also that Abra may be a basal Synapsid as well! I love how all of these have clear elements of the pokémon they would become, but still look clearly like their own thing. Reminds me of how, as a kid, I could always swear that Kabutops just _had_ to be an ancestor of Scyther.

Fun fact Hyenas are more closely related to cats than to wolves thus a mightyena paradox form would be a ancestors to pyroar incinaroar rather than houndoom or Lycanroc

I like this idea a lot, it works well with the whole evolution thing. Seeing as many of these are based on fully evolved Pokémon, perhaps some pre-evolutions would make sense.

Titanthos looks pretty tough, wouldn;t want to mess with them Kitsukoten looks so cool, it's very different from the fox pokemon we have but still has that friend energy to it well done. Feroxodon was pretty out of left field but looks pretty great Basilurge looks pretty cool with the samml range of colours, despite looking ferocious his sharp mouth just looks like you want to give him a bone sort of energy. Eicetus , when I first saw them I loved them, I have been liking seals more and more as I get older. To nail it down I like Kitsukoten the most due to me fox bias but Elcetus would be my second choice.

I really like the idea! Though, one note. Hisuian Zoroark probably should be considered to be a sub-species of the regular Zoroark, rather than Kitsukoten's descendant. Iirc the pokedex mentions that the Hisuian forms of these mons are basically Zoruas that didn't survive in the harsh weather conditions of Hisui and came back to life in their ghostly form Edit: Same goes for Alolan Ninetales I think, since otherwise it would be considered a convergent evolution (Basically having the same physical features while not being related as species. Like sharks and dolphins)

Thank you! And that's a good note. I figured I'd just include the the regional variants to explain how they may have gotten some different traits that their original counterparts didn't have for fun! Like how 2 dogs could have an offspring that don't have traits from either parents, but it's something that came from a granparent/great-grandparent type thing 😄

I like your idea for common ancestor Pokémon. However, a past elephant Pokémon cannot include Mamoswine because the Mamoswine evolution line are pig-related. It's why they have "swine" in their name. Mamoswine would share a common ancestor with Emboar and Grumpig. The past fox Pokémon looks good as a concept. A part of me wants to guess that you want to only have a small number of Pokémon sharing common ancestors since you didn't include Eevee and its evolution line. The cetacean ancestor Pokémon looks neat, as does the ancestor to the sharks & rays.

Thank you! And I appreciate your feedback! Yeah it was difficult to decide whether or not to include Mamoswine for the elephant ancestor or not! I figured either way there would be people who would want to see it because the final stage is partly based on the mammoth, but then others who would rather it not be included because of the pig inspiration. Very tricky when it's got 2 animal inspos going on 😅 Not including the Eevee line was also a bit tricky. I ended up not including any elements from the line into the fox ancestor since I've heard people call Eevee and it's evolution so many different animals like foxes, dogs, cats and rabbits. Since the inspiration behind those pokemon is so varied amongst the community, I thought I would just keep them as their own thing lol

This may be fox bias, but Kitsukoten is my favorite of these by far, good job I am a simple woman who loves foxes Though I kinda wish Eevee was part of it too, but I guess it's not entirely a fox. Eevee is a little bit of everything(fox, domestic dog, cat, bnuuy, etc) If you do an ancestor of other canine pokemon, I hope you separate them like ancestor of wolves and domestic dogs is different than the ancestor of, say, Lucario I only ask, since foxes are still canines, so separating them from other canine pokemon wouldn't make much sense
