It was big, but monk use is limited, you cant make him a starter (who would be our spark from bench then?) And you can finish game with him bc carter and ellis are too small for SF. Monk is our B. Brown but with more little use. At least i hope he will become our reserve PG. This team critically needs to find a way to give monk at least 30 mins. He might be the biggest reserve on current roster.

Kyle Kuzma seems like the most likely and makes the most sense to me tbh. He's relative cheap compared to the asking prices of Lauri, BI, DeRozan, Lavine without the negatives of their contracts price or fit in the team. I think Kuzma would be a good fit for this team as the 3/4th scoring option at PF allowing Keegan to play SF. I think with Mike Brown Kuzma can elevate his defensive ability too. I feel like Kuzma has constantly been on the Kings radar for years with stuff like the Buddy Hield and Kuzma trade talks that I really wanted to happen. Kind of like how the Kings really wanted donte divincenzo. The only things I don't really like is how Kuzma isn't really a good 3 point shooter and his attitude or interest in winning or staying as a King.

Im ok with keeping huerter..its barnes position that needs an upgrade..either more rebound/defense for a big or a smaller shot creator and have to play smaller but cant stay with Barnes.

Thanks for the summer league info and the Sabonis updates. As for the trades,.. there not happening.. Lauri and Brandon have no chance of happening. Kuzma is a long shot, but maybe. I like other get upset because the Kings aren't doing anything, which sucks. The media just makes it worse by talking about trades that have no chance of happening. These rumors are a waste of time and dont count as Monte doing something. I have some free time, would you like me to start some rumors? They mean nothing.

Just get a big body at PF who can play defense. I don’t think we need another star (though it wouldn’t hurt). Fox/Domas/Murray/Ellis as a starting unit will provide plenty of offense. Move Barnes to the bench which gives a solid backup unit Monk/Barnes/Carte/Lyles. Assuming Huerter or Barnes or both ship to get our big body

I really agree with this take. Big body PF who can provide some weight and strength on the defense end is absolutely the real missing piece. Everyone always talking about length but it’s really our lack of strength that’s killing us, imo. Offensively we have more than enough firepower.

It’s hard for me to blame Monty because I don’t know what other teams asking prices are for these players. I’m okay with overpaying a little to land one of these guys that will thrust us into the contender mix but if teams are asking way too much, he can’t make a move just for the sake of making a move. I trust Monty and I hope we can land one of these guys

@@bscoggs Talks between Monte and HB went silent for a couple weeks last offseason, so we know he was trying hard to upgrade. He made HB, Huerter, Mitchell available at the trade deadline, but no takers. Still no takers for HB and Huerter. The big mistake was re-signing HB (and I personally believe that was more of a Mike Brown decision given what we know). Most of everything else Monte has done has made sense to me

I think Kings have offers on table and was just waiting for the other team to accept it. They might try to get 2 stars as oppose to one, like DeRozen and Ingram. If they're after just one star, it shouldn't take that long. But because there are multiple players at play, it is now a wait and see. Once one of those stars start falling, then you can expect the others to speed up.

This is the same dude that swore up and down last offseason how amazing I it was that the kings resigned Harrison Barnes. It was a terrible move, they literally got worse and now they’re stuck with a contract that they’re struggling to move.

Please be reminded that the Kings really don't have enough talent compared to other teams. I do believe that monte is making offers... But think of it from the opponent's GMs point of view. You kangz fans don't think highly of HB and huerter...the calls for them to be shipped out since last season... You would really have to believe that these other GMs see what you are seeing and leveraging that to low-ball the Kings offers at every turn. It's how its been for decades. The thing is Monte hasn't made a "blunder" many have before him. Remember it takes another GM to pull the trigger with Monte to get a deal done.

Monte is happy to do nothing and think this team will get better by osmosis. This team will never land a big splashy free agent but this team running it back as is is not the worst case scenario; it’s just reality. The West got better but Sac didn’t.

Yes, that’s a fair deal but what a random guy making wizards’ videos wants is not the same as what the Wizards Gm is asking for. Just like Matt’s opinion on a fair trade is not the same as what the Kings front office thinks is fair.

Kuzma seems like the best option. It isn’t about a single player it is about a team. Kuzma gives another piece and more flexibility for even more solid pieces. That is what the kings need. But saying this, you can’t simply blame Monte if it doesn’t happen. It takes three to tango, both teams and the player. I firmly believe Monte is aware of all this and is doing his best to get something like that done.

We need to finally see what Monk looks like as a starter. Heurter can be a sparkplug off the bench... in fact it's more what he's suited for. If he's cold you yank him and put in Carter or Ellis. Why Brown refuses to start Monk is the one criticisms I have of the guy.

I wouldn’t say the worst case is them running it back. The worst case is trading Keegan for a guy who walks after a single season in which they get bounced in the first or second round. Because then this team is toast and they need to sell everything.

If we don't get Lauri or Ingram, I still like Jerami Grant. Him, Keegan, Ellis, and Fox would we great perimeter D lineup. Plus over 40% from three and good slasher. It was also reported the Kings had offers to get him at the break last year too.

If there wont be upgrade over Barnes this team will fight for play-inn. To think this roster can reach 3rd seed is very optimmistic. Okc, min, dal, den, pho are already better. No, lal, mem are on more or less same level, but there is a lot of chances they gonna improve this off season. Then we have gsw who is still are a decent team. Sas and hou will improve a lot. Atm i see utah and por as clearly worse teams and maybe lac if they wont add anything bigger. All in all getting something big is a must thing, even kuzma would upgrade this team a lot. 2 years ago that 3rd seed came mainly because so many teams had injury problems, last year it wasnt a case and we saw the result. At worse case get kuzma add covington and veteran PG.

We have to make noise in the playoffs like win 1 or 2 Series before HIGH TALENT wants to come here for a chance to take us to contenders. I believe the roster we have now can easily Win a playoff Series. Remember we went to Game 7 with the Warriors???... Well if the Kings don't make a move I am ok with it and I don't think that means the front office staff should be publicly stoned to death for that. The players like the Jazz's trash, they don't want to pay, or another fringe piece other teams are trying to unload will make a difference. Lets see how free agency plays out and summer league ends up before we hit the panic button. This team hasn't even had a training camp yet and all I see in the comments are fire Brown and Monte trade everyone and stack picks. Lets all just calm down

Swapping Keegan for Lauri or kuzma or Ingram doesn’t make us contenders. Trading so many picks could also backfire. Should get an enforcer and shot blocker instead.

Trading the picks may backfire but it’s worth the effort if they actually think they can get Lauri and extend him. But moving Keegan doesn’t make any sense unless it’s a substantial upgrade for an elite young player. Which none of those guys are.

Lauri Markkanen requires a 3 team deal ( and a Danny Ainge jousting match), super tough. BI is a flight risk, with a potential $208M salary ask next year), semi-tough, Kuzma great contract, (does he want to be in Sac, and not be the big fish) doable. Levine: Crap contract, Crap attendance record.(An expensive deal for hospital bed) Reportedly easy deal as the ask us to take him and a first rounder. Not any easy choices

We've seen Fox play for 6-7 years now. He's never going to be a consistent 30 ppg scorer all season. He always has bunches of games where he seems like he doesn't care. Thats why I'd take Derozan. He can be the 2nd scorer Sabonis and Keegan can't be.

Fox can be 30ppg player. But he must become smarter. Dont go on easiest way aka 3pt shot in transition. He can and must become like SGA, focus on your strengths, in his case drives, mid shots, going to foul line. I like derozan but is too old and too expensive. And it would limit murray progress since he isnt a shooter and would need to have a ball in his hands a lot. Also i am not sure can murray play PF full time.

@@TadasJam Fox can't be SGA because SGA is 6'6. Tbh I think winning matters more than Murray's progress. Murray will have to get in where he fits in. Also if we got Derozan I'd still keep Keegan at SF and bring Monk off the bench.

@@junebugboy5074my goal was fox firstly becoming as smart as SGA. Derozan might be useful for next season or two but then he would turn into a huge problem bc of his age. And i think kings golden age most likely will be after 2-3 years when (lets hope) murray will reach his prime along with carter and ellis and sabonis with fox will still be very good if not play their best game. Derozan simply dont fit bc of age not talking that he would be twice more expensive, poor 3pt shooter, poor defender and in general never was a winner. Kuzma younger, cheaper, can shoot, still cam improve, maybe even his personality can improve, maybe he would adapt like wiggins im gsw.

The move is there. Theres always an opportunity to do that every offseason.Just gotta have a good GM and an owner willing to pay. I mean just look at the warriors. They lost Klay and cp3 but they're surprisingly shaping up pretty well for the situation theyre in so don't tell me the moves arent there because it's there.

Example: Vivek paying $20m vs Lacob paying $20m gets taxed the same. lol LA and SF are big cities, more things to do which is more appealing. That is a better example than California taxes. If they're worried about that, theyd skip california all together. Lakers and SF suck so probably less appealing to players that way. Lakers havent been able to sign any free agent so far.

Trade season and free agency JUST started this week and don’t end until sometime in February. Also, please don’t lecture me about my basketball knowledge, or lack thereof. You know nothing about me and had a problem understanding my joke/comment.

It is because of the idiots who know nothing about the salary cap, financials or contracts...and think it's a phone call and a handshake to get a deal done. Plus historically our overall team talent has been low and fans think they can throw out the trash in a trade to magically get a young elite or in their prime player .

Trade Barnes, Duarte, and 2028 pick for Kuzma. Then call the lakers and trade Huerter for DLo. It’s not the best fit but it’s something than can realistically happen without mortgaging the next decade.

If we run it back we will make the playoffs and who knows how deep we will go and set are selves up to add the last piece we need for the following year. We are building in a way that we can be around for a while. I still have faith in our GM and am willing to give him about 2 more years to see what happens.

The Kings have no one to trade, Huerter or Barnes doesn't add any value to any team. The level of play from Huerter and Barnes screwed the Kings. Everyone on the Kings roster has to step it up individually if they plan on making the playoffs. Especially Huerter and Barnes

I think the kings should make some moves but if they do run it back they will in all likelihood be better than than last year. Ellis will be better, Keegan will be better, Hueter will likely play better, and the addition of Carter will make them better. There is also the chemistry that will be better. So it isn’t terrible. Don’t trade a bunch of assets and solid players and end up worse. That might be what Ainge is asking for. He is likely calling for Keegan+

Only the Kings would draft a player knowing he had a bad shoulder when other options were on the board. Malik Monk is a volume scorer who could give you 20+ with enough playing time and yet you guys insist in making him a bench scorer, It’s just plain idiocy. This is why the Kings will remain irrelevant in the Western Conference.

This is a playoff roster. Mike Brown fumbled it badly last season by starting HB every game and playing him an average of 3 mins/game more than Monk. He also did not capitalize on Keon Ellis for most of the season, DNP'ing Keon about 15 of the 20 games leading up to the allstar break. Such glaringly obvious rotational improvements that didn't happen until he was forced to make them due to injuries
