Also I doubt that she would have remained free unless it was arranged by the time of Raenyras and Daemon’s marriage. I can't see a 25 years old daughter of Raenhys who also happens to have the biggest dragon single waiting for a match. Now if the marriage had been discussed early on she may have ended up married to Aegon with Rhaeny's protests or without them her husband only cares about titles and may have already thinking how to elevate his son-in-law to heir to the throne. So in this line him and Otto may have been the ones to initiate war.

Well in regards to that I’d say it doesn’t matter what Rhaenys wants. She’s not the head of House Velaryon. Corlys is and he’s made it clear multiple times that he’ll go around her if he wants to. Rhaenys didn’t want Laena to marry Viserys, yet he pushed his daughter toward the king anyway. Rhaenys also didn’t even want Laenor to marry Rhaenyra because of the danger he’d be in. But still Coryls accepted the proposal. So as much as it sucks to say Rhaenys would have little to no say in what would happen to their children. As for them not trusting Otto I find that doubtful. Something people forget is just how prideful and ambitious Corlys is. Aegon is the kings first born son and many expect him to be heir. If he marries Laena it doesn’t really matter if Viserys favors Otto or not because the’ll be in with him and it would make no sense for Otto to turn on them given that Aegon would have the might of house Velaryon behind him through Laena and I doubt Otto would try to screw that up. Coryls has made it clear he wants to be as close to the throne as he can get. And in knowing that people expect Aegon to be king, and people like Otto are planning to make that happen, I definitely see him trying to aid in that since it will mean more for him. Not only being father in law to the king but father to the queen and grandfather to their heirs.

Why Larys would do that? Lyonel isn’t hand in this case… they aren’t a threat, he would act in the shadows to gain Alicent trust without involving his family..

Its headcanon by many because rhaenyra said that they “tried”. Also its cope to justify the risk rhaenyra made herself take. Jace was born less than a year into her marriage with laenor, so apparently they didn’t try very hard or very long.

But then I saw everyone saying that Laenor was infertile and the truth is I don't think they are sure of that, like it’s a collective head canon.

It's just headcanon, so Nyra seems less dumb and reckless. But seeing as Jace was born about a year or so later, it obvious they tried maybe a handful of times and gave up. Which is dumb af, she could have tried harder, or at least chosen a Velaryon looking man. Hell, she could have also gone to Viserys to ask for an annulment since Laenor is not providing heirs (this option is less favorable, since I dont think there is a precident in cannon for annulments on the grounds of infertility. Furthermore, the Velaryons are gonna be hella pissed about this)

He might not be infertile. He could just not be able to perform (get it up) since he's gay and all..

It eliminates her having bastards with Harwin, which removes the greens’ ammunition against Rhaenyra. Now they’ll try to usurp the throne only because she’s a woman. Of course, this could also keep Rhaenyra at court, which would likely help her keep the support of some lords who had turned against her while she was gone.

Where did corlys “hate” the hightowers? He wanted a marriage pact with the IT, I doubt having alicent being the queen is not really that of an issue. Even the arch-enemies Blackwood and Bracken married multiple times. Thats kinda the point in feudalism. Rhaenyras kids would be younger and the green kids are not any less valuable because Otto bad. Where did you even get the idea that KL loved Daemon? He was a cop that butchered randos, he was only “loved” by a small section of the city.
