The way he went from "no, no, I don't want a ride," to being in seventh heaven was something. This video is spectacular! Rodger is a gem, and his collection of historical photos adds so much to the discussion. He mentioned how you couldn't get tires during WWII - my mom was 22 years old and riding with friends on bare rubber, and her leg was broken due to poor traction/braking. My dad had a Model A in 1928, and he "souped it up". Raised the fenders with a brace and bit to drill the holes. He said "it went faster than anything the state police had". S Denver to Palmer Lake is about 47 miles.

my neighbor was also born in 1931. a few years ago he was feeling good and called me on the telephone to say that the was an antique car show in east hampton conn. we are in shelton, about 42 miles away. hr asked to drive him in his model t runabout to the show. since the car had not run in two or three years, i prefaced the trip that if i could start the car without repairs we could go. a check of the oil, coolant three pulls of the crank and we were started. we filled the gas and the tires and made the 80 mile 'round trip without any problems, and a real good time too. such a thrill to cross the connecticut river from middletown to portland. he's gone now, and his widow sold the car, but the memories are the treasures.

I knew Bert, a huge figure in the Canadian antique scene. My ride in his Model T touring was unforgettable. With the top up, it wafted along- the most relaxed drive I’ve ever had. That was a really kind thing you two did for that man, he said he lives in memories mostly and you really gave him a great new one. I'd like to see you take the Model T to a High School Drivers Ed course for a show and tell session to show the kids learning how to drive about the Model T and how life was back in the early years when you really had to "learn how to drive". Maybe you could arrange something with a local High School.

Such a cool video. This is what preserving old cars is all about. I had my model T out last night where we visited the local "Ford's Garage" restaurant. A family at a table near us had their 1 year old there for their birthday celebration. I offered my car for rides and pictures and it made their day. You guys absolutely made his year by sharing your car with him. Also, the Frontenac head was developed by non other than a Louis Chevrolet. I think all of us can identify that name. Louis' passion was racing Fords. Ironically his name graces the brand that is Ford's biggest competitor.

My mom who was in her late 80's when she passed but would be well in her 90's today, and I remember her talking about her grandpa owning one of these & carrying her for rides. If you didn't, you guys should consider getting a photo op with roger in poses like his old photos of when he was 13. 80 year comparison shots would be amazing to see and I'm sure the family, especially Roger, being a photographer, would treasure it! Plus, I echo the sentiment of the comments. If it's not too much hassle and Roger's up for it, more videos with him would be awesome! Maybe you can invite him to work with you on a repair or upgrade sometime of the T! :)

I am sure that Roger would love to go out again, maybe when the weather cools off a little. What a life, living and traveling all over Europe as a photographer. Still sharp at 93 years old. My grandfather was 23 years old when he married my grandmother in 1920. I wish that I would have asked him what type of cars he owned from the mid 1900's through the end of the 1950's. He was driving a Pontiac Bonneville from around 1966 until he passed in 1979. Prior to that I vaguely remember that the car might have been a Packard, but I distinctly remember messing with power window switches until my mother stopped that and warned me that I could wear out the power window switch.
