You’re da man!!! Thanks Peter!!! I have a 2009 Elcipse Spyder and the patch rusted out so the hood wouldn’t open. Had to remove the assembly like you did and voila!! Hood opened!!!

Why take the bolts out.. you can see the mechanism plainly. Just yank the lever to the side like the cable does !!!

Nissan dealer had to break my grill today to be able to access latch. This was one day after they just replaced hood latch due to Safety Recall.
