The standoff between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) isn't the only confrontation between the two countries. In the past decade or so, China has made considerable inroads into India's immediate neighbourhood.
That's amply visible in countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and the Maldives. The competition between the two Asian giants manifests itself in the fields of finance, infrastructure and connectivity. What is India doing to counter China's expansionist moves?
In this episode of 'Simply Nitin', StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale explains.

India should provide the following things to Nepal. 1. Air entry route 2. Nepal-Bangladesh transit 3. Amendment of 1950 treaty 4. Accept EPG report. 5. Solve the border dispute.

First , the both countries cannot not even agree on line of actual control(LAC) . Then how they will agree on the actual border line. 😂

The $1.21bn submarine base was built by China for the Bangladesh Navy not for the Chinese Navy, and the reason for 6 berths is because Bangladesh plans to buy 6 new submarines.

@@Nationfirstalwaysfirst_IND What's that got to do with it? He's comment in the video was that 1. why does Bangladesh need submarines (as if it's up to indians to ask why we need submarines) and 2. why Bangladesh needs a submarine base for 6 submarines. And finally, as Bangladesh is a sovereign nation it's none of indias business.

@@Nationfirstalwaysfirst_IND What's that got to do with the video? The submarine base in Bangladesh is a Bangladeshi submarine base not a Chinese submarine base. It's just that it was built with help from China. As for having a base in Vietnam, or Philippines, that's never gonna happen. india will never be allowed to have bases in those countries, the US would never permit that in the Philippines and Vietnamese constitution does not allow foreign bases.

Nitin : disappointed with this episode actually. India has no means to do anything to China in the SCS, this is a n overstretch. India under modi is struggling to keep China out of the Indian oceans, as China creates new allies (who used to be Indian allies) Maldives. Nepal, Bangladesh., Bhutan,. Srilanka. These used to be Indian allies historically, modi with his foolish foreign policies messed it up. Modi is not even able to acknowledge that China has occupied additional Indian territories since 2014, and you really expect India to do anything other than some noise for election purposes about China !

india promised Bangladesh $8bn in development loans, couldn't even manage more then $920mn while China provided over $48bn in the same period. india is all talk no action, it neither has the infra capability nor the money to help its neighbours but insists that they don't go to China. So what are they to do remain poor and underdeveloped?

China's loans carry an underlining g of debt trap..same.cannot be said for india..and bother someone else CCP not.we will show you and your Master your true place in the right time . India is currently the world's 5th largest economy. Is catching up to China at an exponential rate of 6.5 to 7% growth per year.

@@subhadeep129 Stop whining, first of all india's economy is still 5 times smaller and at current growth rates it will take more then 90 years to catch China. As for debt trap BS, Bangladesh has been taking loans from China for over 2 decades now (without any issues), it's what has helped Bangladesh become one of the fastest growing economies in the past decade and helped Bangladesh GDP per Capita grow from less then half indias to become the same now. You can't show jack to anyone so stop your BS.
