For me it is 'Who's that knocking at my door'. I think it was Martin Scorsese in his purest form back then.

That's not what I thought needed to be done, just to clarify. Italians living here in America , I mean, the Jews owe a great debt of gratitude for they Italians coming to there rescue & defeating Hitler. How could the America government betray or disrespect the Italian people & have hearings & question the loyalty of Italians to America.

What’s your favorite Scorsese movie and why❓
@Just_Zurc Жыл бұрын
Taxi Driver. My first time watching it, I felt that there was something about it that was unique, so I watched it over and over again to try and figure out why I thought it was unique. I fell in love with the movie, and it became my favorite film. I can never understand why it was so unique to me though

There's more important Scorsese films in terms of cinema history but my favourite is After Hours because it's so simple in story but grounded by atmosphere, a short Oz like film dream we awaken from and get on with our lives like Griffin Dunne; Plus the lesson for filmmakers about shooting more with less (not his first time re-learning this) is something filmmaker's should learn happens at every level and is only part of the process of failing forwards. Close second is The Color Of Money for similar reasons.

The CCC factory overlooks the cemetery, and that juxtaposition is as disjointed as you infer. That contrast highlights the futility of petty violence and the tragedy of waste that is the ending of lives. The "What was it all for?".

Perhaps you feel that nothing matters, and that it's all meaningless. Perhaps you care enough to comment. Either is a reasonable conclusion. Embracing such ideas let's one cross over from nihilism to absurdism. If there is no meaning, I find my own, or look elsewhere.
