Yup, the awareness that as a crew member you're up for some physical work with no creativity involved whatsoever! (unless you're a DP, director, actor or a screenwriter)

Enjoyed this episode! Good to see Film Riot talk about lower roles on TV/film sets, not enough indie-filmmakers realise that working as lower roles on bigger/professional productions is a great way to one day getting to where you want to be. I made the choice about a year ago to start working as a camera trainee on TV dramas and films instead of DOPing unpaid short films and it's possibly the best decision I've ever made. I still DOP shorts when I can but working in the camera department on professional shoots has taught me more about cinematography than shooting stuff on a Canon 5D ever did!

nicely done I've been a career 2nd AC for about 11 years and I was surprised how in depth you've gotten. The job of course does get a lot more in depth but this was a great start. The way I always look at it the AC's job is kind of like being the Mother Bear to the Cub (Camera + Gear).

Wow, came back from my first Camera PA job today. 2nd AC had to go so they delegated the role to me, and turns out I was doing okay from what the video says. I thought the 1st AC not giving me the lens was him being a hard ass, but it's just etiquette. Woops! He's a cool dude though. Really great video, I'ma do so much better tomorrow!
