I'm launching in a couple months, got a few jobs lined up already but we are working on our personal site and legal requirements first (licensing and tax and stuff figured out) before starting on them. I'll send you my site when we are ready to go and I hope you can find some time to do another site audit. My main focus on distinguishing ourselves from the competition it to make sure the site oozes personality so it should be interesting at the very least haha

DON'T WORRY ABOUT FOLLOW OR NO FOLLOW. Most people won't know the difference, and that's fine, just leave a meaningful comment anyway. You'd need to inspect the code to know whether it's a 'follow' or 'no follow' link. One will send 'link juice' (follow) to your website and the other won't (no follow). So, clearly a 'follow' link is much more worth it, but if you're adding value to the video or article then it won't matter because people will check you out anyway. The better your comment, the more likely someone will click through to see what you're all about. More often than not, any links that you leave will be turned in to the 'no follow' type-it's rare that the website owner will allow it. This is because it's telling Google that it's a worthwhile link, which the site owner won't know or have any control over unless they vet them first. Great tip about reverse engineering your competitors' success-I don't think enough people do this. Not beginners anyway. In terms of footer links back to your site, that's a good idea to link to the services page Chris. The best use of this that I've read is to link each of the websites that you've created to a case study for that particular client. That way, Google will see it as being more relevant. More time consuming, but arguably more worth it. This also helps visitors as well with more context.

I have a question completely non-SEO related if that's ok. But how do you handle website transfers to client hosting? Do you build the sites on your own hosting/domain and then transfer the site to the clients hosting/domain? If so, do you do this manually, or do you use a plugin? Thank you so much, Chris.

Great video sir, Question though, backlinks that are no longer available, a site I’m working has 70 backlinks (not many) but some are from when the domain was used by a different company, is it a bit naughty to re create the urls to make them active again?

I've heard the footer links for web designs is against Google's TOS and if you do it you can get a manual action. Is this true?
