I was a business analyst at one time and this is exactly what I did during one of my career roles at my former employer. But in addition I did also write test cases and ran testing for the platform enhancements. You become the trusted problem solver. You also develop trust with IT partners. This role was the happiest time of my entire career there and I don’t exaggerate. I have since retired from there. Super company.

Monday, June 10, 2024 -> I started watching this in order to become a Business Analyst. I am actually a student software developer so I have knowledge about SDLC stuff and how software development works. Best explanation I've seen! I've been a business analyst for about a year and my role was never really defined for me by my bosses. But if I had to describe it, it'd be exactly this. In fact I've described my job as being a liaison between our business side folks and our IT folks.

Only thing a bit confusing here is, IT is usually more your software and hardware and data security gurus, not the coders / developers; usually those teams are called the Product / Product Development team - at least that’s my experience, but I’m sure IT is sometimes used as well.

Hey, I am an IB Y2 student and will begin my undergraduate degree in the second half of 2022. I love the job of business analyst and truly desire to be one. However, I am a bit confused in choosing the right degree for this career. Should I do a Bachelor of Economics degree OR Bachelor of Commerce degree (major in information systems, etc) Which would provide a more clear path to becoming a business analyst? Hi! Working without BA you just will spent time to connect IT and business units a lot. But it work in companies have IT unit from 5 employess. smaller companies can make liaison between units without BA.
