My sister blow my head gasket it took me about 10 miles of driving before I noticed just wanna is it still fixable or is my engine cooked

It may be if the cylinder head or block didn't warp beyond specs.

Usually if this has failed, a new replacement engine is the only long term fix......

Absolutely not! Head gaskets fail for various reasons and almost all the time can be replaced and last longer than the original gasket.

Overheating the engine is the biggest one. Then corrosion and deterioration.

Im restarting and fixing my car and when checking engines, on idol it starts overheating to the max gauge and we turn off and let cool but not when driving, is there big chance its already screwed?

I have the same issue mines is blown & my car can turn over but once crank I wonder what’s stopping it to crank but before this all happen I first noticed grey smoke then I pulled over but I thought a blown head gasket smoke should be white 🤔

Could be coolant in the cylinders if the head gasket is blown bad.

@@Motorcarnut I haven’t seen the head gasket myself so I can’t tell you if it’s blown bad or not but the previous mechanic said it’s blown head gasket I can tell from the oil looking milky & dark brown I def prolly have a leakage something was causing the smoke to appear when I go more then 10miles etc the less I drive the less it starts coming it so I stop driving it & yes maybe so I was thinking about getting the head gasket replaced

Absolutely, it does't take long especially an all aluminum engine.

@@Motorcarnut is a 2007 honda crv with 100k the thermostat housing cracked and it leaked all the coolant through there. 😢 and I just bought it last month for $6,900

In that case I would take the head off see if it can be resurfaced then check the block deck for warpage. You have a lot of money in the car so that’s what I would do.
