No. There are some mechanics that work a LOT smoother with descending AC. Like monsters with crushing attacks (damage is x minus AC).

Yes, that was one of the things I wanted to do when I consolidated the Players Manual and Game Masters Toolkit into one book. A lot of stuff was just straight-out jettisoned, and other stuff was streamlined.

Yes, but it's been streamlined from what was in the original Game Masters Toolkit. Has rules for privation, extreme temperature, hunting, and becoming lost.

@@GreyhawkGrognard - AD&D and its retro-clones are very much the game for me. I just wouldn't play it conventionally. I already have all your stuff, by the way. I especially like the campaign expansion adventures-- very good to fill in the gaps, when players aren't quite ready for the BBEG, or to switch things up, when they think they already know the plot. I happened to recognize the class inflation, and the parallel power creep early on, when the monk class became a thing in _Unearthed Arcana._ My first thought was, "Wait... This is a Shaolin monk. In a setting modeled after Western Europe. Why?" It turned out that it was because Dave Arneson wanted to play Kane from _Kung Fu_ in Greyhawk, without regard to what a square peg that would be for the DM. Second Edition, by the way, was TSR's way of squeezing Garry Gygax out of his royalties, much like Gygax tried to do the same to Arneson, by producing AD&D. So I find it hard to muster a lot of sympathy there. I hate to say this, but the pioneers of RPGs had a real habit of acting like "That Guy," whether it was at a gaming table, or a board meeting.

@@fleetcenturion Well I do appreciate that, thanks! I think you're going to like the change I made to multi-classing for demi-humans, then. Rather than specific class combinations, each race has a maximum number of other classes they can pick with any particular class. So it's a lot more flexible. For example, a wood elf character who wants to be a cleric can multi-class with any other class that a wood elf can be, as long as it only has a maximum of 2 classes total. There are some classes (like grey elf assassins) that can't multi-class. It's all managed through one table, and I think it's pretty slick.

@@GreyhawkGrognard - Since I'd regard "assassin" as a profession (likely a background) rather than a class, such limitations wouldn't bother me in the slightest. 😃👍 Plus, a grey elf assassin? That sounds more like just another human edgeolrd, in a funny costume.
