What's cool is that there are quite a few A-rank SP Support battlesuits you can unlock from the shops using currency you earn playing the game only. But you do need at least their best weapon from the gacha to make them powerful. I started a new account when Part 2 dropped, and unlocked about seven of them in under a month. I just recently got to account level 80 as well, which is the max level for battlesuits. The Honkai Team also gives out free S-rank battlesuits and sometimes gear as well, as event rewards. But the biggest reward was the two artbooks they released. They printed 12,500 per server with which to reward players for their support.

A bit of trivia about the Evangelion colab. It wasn't just a "character appears" type of deal. It was a whole unique Honkai x Evangellion story event where we visited a world with mixed elements of both that lasted through whole patch cycle. Even main menu was Evangelion themed for that time. CEO of MiHoYo, Da Wei, described this colab as "fanboying with company money"

Honkai Impact 3rd's main story is inspired by Evangelion. The creator of the game is a big fan of the series, and so it was inevitable that they eventually did a collaboration. Also, the boss fights in this game are insane. The story gets better and better the more you play. Also, the Herrschers are like the Archons. They are the Gods/Godlike entities in this game. There are 14 total Herrschers, so twice as many as there are Archons. This game is also extremely generous. The amount of currency you can get for free is so much more than Genshin offers. Not only that, they give you a Herrscher for free when you start the game. That's basically the same as Genshin giving you a free 5 star Archon just for logging in the game. Also, fun fact: The Herrscher of the Void is what inspired the design for the Unknown God that appears at the beginning of Genshin Impact. In an interview, the devs even said that Hi3 players would recognize her immediately upon starting Genshin. Heck, because all the games are connected in canon, Dvalin even shows up in the main story of Hi3, as is mentioned in the Fallen Rosemary preview video. You see there is this thing called the Imaginary Tree, which is a cosmic tree that serves as a multiverse of sorts for Hoyoverse. In the tree, GI, HSR, Hi3, and GGZ exist. Also, you can play as some male characters in the game, but only in the main story and specific game modes. They aren't summonable, unfortunately. Apho is 8 years after the end of Part 1 of Hi3. And it takes place just before Welt canonically leaves to go into the Honkai Star Rail Verse. The manga Alien Space goes into this more and explains why Welt left Earth. W video! Keep these up!

Couple notes: You were somewhat on track with the APHO idea. APHO takes place 8 years after the end of Part 1's story, rather than telling the beginning/previous Honkai eruptions. They do tell the story of the 1st and 2nd Honkai disasters though (the game's story is the 3rd Honkai disaster - hence Honkai "Impact 3rd" like you said. Also that male character isn't Welt. That's Adam. Raiden Mei didn't transform into a dragon. She's riding it. If you look closely you can see her purple hair waiving about in the wind. Like you saw, Genshin is linked to the Honkai Universe. Genshin isn't part of the Honkai IP (even though it was previously supposed to be - it used to be called Honkai 4) but it is part of the greater Honkai universe that includes, at least, Honkai Gauken 2, Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star Rail. The reasoning behind why Otto was able to see Dvalin is complicated and involves a lot of lore and spoilers for it but to sum it up in the simplest way possible: imagine a solar system where every planet and star is a different universe. Then, imagine there is a large entity like a sun that gives you the ability to look into these different universes and even traverse them. That's essentially what he was doing. He was looking at different universes in that shared solar system and found Teyvat and Fallen Rosemary. We call this system the "Imaginary Tree" (it even pops up a bit in Star Rail) and each "leaf" on that tree is a different universe. Star Rail, Genshin, Honkai Impact 3rd, and all the other games miHoYo makes in this universe are all just leaves on this tree (though Star Rail's different planets aren't different universes/leaves on the tree, but actual universes within their own universe iirc). It's really complicated to explain without any context and not giving any spoilers just to be safe but that's the jist of it. If you got more questions then let me know. Asuka joining the game isn't canon in terms of the storyline - this is as completely alternate storyline for the event. Sadly, you can't get Asuka anymore since she was a limited time character from the collab and doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon due to a bunch of reasons.

16:35 guy character. 'Adam' is the single playable male character. He is a self insert you saw in APHO. BUT he is ONLY playable in the APHO game modes (there is chapter 1 and chapter 2). He is the ONLY male student to ever attend St Freya High. The devs wanted to make a game of and about cute anime girls. So, they are 'valkyries'.

Without Evangelion, there would no MiHoYo, which in turn, would be no Honkai Impact. Without Honkai Impact, you wouldn't have Genshin....and Fate Grand Order would still be in the Top 3 mobile games. It's a bit of a domino effect.
