Since 2001, Baylor Line Camp has eased those pre-college anxieties for incoming Bears. An extension of orientation, Line Camp further prepares new students for their transition to Baylor. Over the course of four days, they get to know fellow freshmen, become familiar with getting around campus, run the Baylor Line for the first time, learn the cheers and chants they’ll do at sporting events, and even have their own mini All University Sing.
But most will agree that the highlight of Line Camp is the trip to Independence, Texas, Baylor’s original home. Here, Baylor’s newest Bears learn about the university’s beginnings, have a meal together, and in a solemn ceremony around the last remaining columns of Baylor’s original buildings, are inducted into that good old Baylor Line.
