I think the DMC1 Novel was retconned to be BEFORE the DMC3 Manga. Because Dante gets ebony and ivory in the novel from Nell and already has them in the DMC3 Manga. Also, Nell and the events of the novel are mentioned in canon material like DMC5 so it definitely happened. This means it was likely before the DMC3 manga

It was never retconned to be before the Manga since the novel came out first. The Manga retconned parts of the first Novel, for example, most of the parts about Gilver being Vergil, and how long it had been since Dante had seen Vergil.

@@SleepyEvelen you are right to a certain degree, but it has to have happened because the characters and events are mentioned in DMC5. Not to forget the interviews.... So we have to assume it happened before DMC3 manga or how else would it fit?

You should go over with every crossover and see if any are Canon or could be. Like after dmc2 Dante does SMT 3 and beats lucifer then he becomes the devil arm wielded by Dante in Dmc 4

Pretty much tho technically it's DMC4/DMC4 Novel the novel just fleshes out the things we don't see in the cutscenes because DMC4 just like most DMC games is always unfinished lmao

I understood the timeline in a video but there were information that were unclear thanks to your information. The reboot is not connected to the Devil May Cry Canon or whatever they call it but it’s another timeline. Same characters but different Personality’s and Story Eva instead being Angel than Human and Sparta not being a Legendary dark Knight but just a Demon. We have seen Angels in DMC4 but they are Robots and the not real angels and they are instead call Angelos

The „angels“ in dmc4 are demons/evil spirits in Angelo armors. Those armors are forged by Machiavelli, the best smith in the demon world. There is absolutely nothing angelic about those „angels“. Pretty sure itsuno even stated that there’re no angels nor heaven in dmc. Kinda weird considering that fallen priests exist in dmc3.

My biggest issue with DMC 2 is dantes personality being dead. Not sure if this was ever explained.

Nah originally it was at the end of the timeline so we assumed it was because everyone he known was dead but comes to find out he's just depressed in DMC2. Since DMC2 takes place in the same year as the anime we see Dante depressed and drinking a lot then he is somewhat depressed after Patty leaves and in the DMC 2 novel he makes jokes but is still shown to be somewhat depressed.

V is supposed to be all human being the human half of Vergil right, so how come he can still control demons

It's more of what makes him human and Demon Just because they re split in half doesn't mean V can't use his Demon powers. He is just extremely weak. In the Manga to cover up that weakness he had to make a Pack with the DMC 1 Demons (that's how he got those tattoos) But in DMC 5 it also states that When V was dying he was running out of Demonic energy to keep himself together.

So….are angels canon or not? In my mind Nero is 1/4 demon, 1/4 angel, and 2/4 human. Half demon father and a half angel mother. This is why he is so powerful, can regenerate body parts, and why his DT looks like a demonic angel.

TECHNICALLY a long time ago there was a statement that angels and gods did not exist however DMC 2 lore says otherwise that they existed however were turned into Demons. Which adds up with a lot of the lore since it mentions gods a lot of time.
