I actually enjoy when I have those small moments of confusion. Makes me think I’m a time traveller or something

I get the feeling of deja vu in the most random moments.... sometimes when I'm having a good time, laughing, having fun, it just hits my brain and then i just end up stopping what I'm doing.

Had a big crash the other day and the hit to the head made the next hour feel like a memory while it happened. Very disconcerting!

my "dejavu" tends to happen in the form of dreams. I'll have a dream and then *much* later it will happen in my life. I don't recognize it's importance while I am dreaming, but I definitely remember it (and dreaming it) after it happens.

Here's a mind blowing insight - I think I have a theory for dejavu. About 3 years ago I started down a journey of learning to lucid dream. One of the best tactics to learn to lucid dream is to keep a dream diary. You basically write down your dream the moment you wake up - every detail you can. About a year into it I had a wild thing happen - something I dreamt actually happen in real life. It wasn't identical, but it was damn near close on the key details. Over 3 years it has happened 4 times. So my theory for Deja vu is that it is that we did experience it, we just dreamt it at some point recently and don't recall the dream, but that moment of the dream is recalled and feels familiar. when we dream at night, often our brain is running simulations to prepare us for the next day based on inputs gathered both consciously and unconsciously. And we all dream. Anyone who says "I don't dream" is actually saying "I've taught my brain that dreams aren't important to remember" Wild stuff. Learning to lucid dream is a fun journey, and I'm always excited to see when the next dream was actually a prediction. I no longer feel Deja vu, I feel wild excitement when I check my dream journal and confirm this event was in there.

Once, I was at a birthday party near a beach, in a spot I'd never been, and there were a few people I'd never met there. I got this feeling over me that felt like deja vu, I didn't say I felt it out loud. However, one of the girls I'd just met said "I feel like I'm having deja vu" and my eyes just went wide. How is it possible we never met, never had been to that spot, but were BOTH experiencing deja vu?! Creeps me out to this day

How can you explain this. I dream about my “déjà vu” moments. Sometimes I can even remember it when I wake up (this is more rare though). When I do, later on when I’m about to do what I saw in the dream, I remember what I dreamt. So basically I can choose to continue the action or not, and I do continue. It’s such a weird and interesting thing, it’s like my dream state sees the future on rare occasions.

There was a moment happened in my class one year ago, I suddenly had the deja vu feeling, I instantly looked at the door of the classroom and think, a woman will stand in front of the door few seconds later, guess what? she really appear, I remember that scene until now....

Actually i realized that dejavu events are seen in dreams in the past. Thus when you experience them, you remember the dream you saw. Usually those kind of dreams are those that you remember the next day without knowing their significance until the event actually happens.

It's interesting how people always say "our brains". Or, "the brain is amazing". And it makes me think - Aren't we the brain itself? When we talk, aren't WE actually the brain talking? So when I have a conversation with someone, we are talking brain to brain. You really are your brain, just in a body, or mask, as I like to call it. So instead of saying "my brain", maybe we should say, "I". Just a thought.

When Olivia's new song "deja vu" came out yesterday I didn't know the meaning of deja vu so I searched it up today and realised I have it- and it happens in the most random moments and I kind of like it! It's just fun for some reason

i remember one time i was dreaming about me rushing to somewhere then suddenly i crashed and woke up... Then one day i was driving in a hurry and i had an instant feeling of deja vu so i stopped automatically, Next thing you know .. the car that hit me in my dream was just about to hit me in real life. I find that I experience dejavu much more often when my life seems like it's heading on the right track - at those times I'll feel it multiple times in a month. At one point at a bar just playing pool with a friend, I felt the feeling completely wash over me from everything in the room. The lighting, the sound, the positions of standing around the table. My friend then told me some little offhand comment. I asked if it was something his grandmother said to him, and it was. No idea where it came from but I remember the dejavu experience and feeling and straight up when my friend said whatever it was he said (that memory is now gone of course but it was something non-generic), as he said it the dejavu just got stronger and then I reached for the source which was correct. It was a very surreal moment. I don't believe in any psychic things at all, but dejavu interests me.

Has anyone else had such a strong feeling of deja vu that you know what's coming next? It happened to me once where I was talking with a mate, I got the deja vu "remembered" what came next and said the sentence he was gonna say with him. He didn't think anything of it but I did

can i just say,i’ve had this since i was around 6 i would see diffrent “pictures” and snips of places or things i’ve never been or never seen.these never happen and i never remeber when they do it can happen any time of the day and i don’t remember it but when i see the snippet/picture or whatever it comes back and i’m like i’ve seen this exact moment before

Déjà Vu means you've just been in this place before

Before I even watch this video, I want to give a quick analysis on what I believe déjà vu is. In a world/universe where one believes that there are many dimensions and other worlds that replicate exactly what is happening right now at this very moment of our lives, where we all exist exactly the same as we are here but just tuned to a different dial/frequency on the radio...we somehow are able to lock minds with our other self (which at that very instant is doing the exact same as we are here), our minds are somehow able to breach the boundaries of space and time to connect for a brief second. Then just a few seconds later, that connection is lost and the feeling ceases to exist until next time.

Every time I get deja vu I gasp In surprise so I look crazy. It’s weird how I can predict what happens next but I can’t tell anyone in advance because I won’t remember until it happens.

I experience Deja Vu every so often but instead of places or people specifically, it is usually a feeling of how some particular event is unfolding and I am aware of the Deja Vu while it is taking place. What is weird is that afterwards the feeling does not linger like some dreams do. It is very much here and gone and quite disturbing or thrilling while it is happening, but then quickly becoming a non event.

Does anyone else experience anything like this too? So once I saw a vivid image in a dream. At least a week later, I remember my image WITHOUT actually experiencing deja vu yet. I just remember the image and know I will EVENTUALLY experience deja vu. And some time AFTER that, spanning from months to weeks and forgetting about it, then I finally get deja vu.

When I have deja vu, I stop and ask myself, "What am I supposed to be learning from this?" So far, nothing.

I use to get it a ton after i had surgery. I found out anesthesia triggers it hard core for a good 2 weeks.

When I was around 14 or 15 I would have random dreams where I would see myself doing things in the future only for me to actually experience them again when I do that thing and then realizing this was in my dream. Now I just get deja vu's only when I'm awake and at that exact moment.

I was doing something in like 2019 or 2018 and then I had a picture in my mind about a blonde girl sneezing, the next year I saw that same exact girl sneeze and she was one of my classmates that I didn't know back then because she was doing something else at a other school. Why do I feel this video was inspired by the movie Inside out? Reasons: I recently saw the movie. The movie is more than 6 years old and this video is also 6 years old. The movie is about memories and has a scene about déjà vu. Also the way you showed short term and long term memories with train and factories is just like in the movie.

I remember some parts of my childhood in "observermode"

I haven't had it for quite a few months but I used to get it very often. Its so weird and yet so confusing. When it happens to me its like I've been there or done that in the past even though you know you haven't.

I had deja vu since I was 8 and now I am 13 and still experiencing deja vu.

Dear It's Okay To Be Smart, I'm not sure about your explanations, but I've heard it explained by neuroscientists this way: 1. Memories are, in fact, combined patterns from our senses. 2. Memories are not exact patterns of what actually happened. 3. Memories are constantly rewritten into new patterns. 4. Sometimes, for whatever reason, the senses-while encoding a pattern-get matched with another previous memory pattern (or part of a memory pattern) which is not what had actually happened anyway. 5. The reason we don't constantly experience Déjà Vu is because, like DNA or a fingerprint, it takes a long time to experience matching patterns. I.e., while your brain (if to liken it to a computer storing a memory) is writing a set of 1s and 0s to create a memory, it comes across a set of previously written 1s and 0s which have a section that match. Boom, Déjà Vu!

I've always had this theory that we relive our lives over and over again but with slightly different things that happen but the majority is still the same. The light at the end of the tunnel when you die is the same light at the end of the tunnel when you're born. Deja Vu is literally just remembering the same things that's happened in your past life to me.

This happens to me pretty often and I didn’t know if it was just me experiencing this until one of my friends told me that is was an actual thing and that this happened to a lot of people we just don’t talk about as often because we think is something cool and weird that we don’t share it
