What is difference between Full Bore Valve and Reduced Bore Valve & When to use what ?

Full Bore valves are specifically designed that can the complete flow of the fluid in the line without any restriction.
However, Reduced bore Valve are designed such that the port size is slightly smaller that the line ID and hence there is some restriction to the flow.
There are several reasons to be considered before selecting reduced bore or full bore valves

Whenever you are using Valve as an isolation valve for installing the Sample probe, since the Sample probe shaft i.e. pipe shall pass through that valve, FULL BORE valve is used. You may add this point as one of the criterias where application of the valve is taken into consideration.
