I love your example of how you learned about Dutch kickboxing I learned about kickboxing from American kickboxing but found out about Dutch kickboxing from watch Bas Rutten in Pancrase

DUDE, the fact that you mentioned you got into Dutch Kickboxers through the K1 Sega Saturn game. That's just awesome. I got into kickboxing growing up through the K1 Revenge game for PS1 myself! And I've been hooked since.

I loved those K-1 games, I wish there was a Rizin game. I like the idea of having one long health bar that goes down in 2-3 rounds. Although if I wanted to, I could go to Tekken and set the number of rounds to 1 and have the life bar be above 100%. Dutch Kickboxing is great, it's better than the disastrous American Kickboxing where it's just terrible boxing matches with some kicks.

My gym offers Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, AND boxing to help improve hand striking!!! As well as a ton of Jiu Jitsu Classes!

Isn't dutch style kickboxing a combination of muay thai, boxing and kyokushin karate And does it teach you muay thai clinch, elbow and boxing footwork? And should i learn Boxing and. Muay thai separately or learn dutch style kickboxing? And is it good for self defense?

@@user-dm4dl8rz3g Isn't dutch style kickboxing a combination of muay thai, boxing and kyokushin karate -Yes And does it teach you muay thai clinch, elbow and boxing footwork? -thai clinch work YES -elbows yes -Boxinfootwork NO - because of the kicking and knees, boxing footwork is asking for you legs to be brutalized by lowkicks. You do learn adapted version of boxing footwork, just adapted for the different ruleset And should i learn Boxing and. Muay thai separately or learn dutch style kickboxing? - Whatever floats your boat my dude. I 've done about 18 years of Muay thai, and Dutch kickboxing here in the Netherlands. It suits me. And is it good for self defense? - Sure is. But every combat sport (that pressure tests) is good for self defense.

One thing to keep in mind about Dutch style, it's a style that often sacrifices A in order to get B where B is better than A. But the sacrificing A part before you're used to it.. SUCKS expect to be soar from head to toe, for 80% of the time in your first 8 months. XD But I think it's worth it

Dutch kickboxinng is pretty much just Muay thai with more boxing emphasize. Yes, Dutch kickboxing is also Kyokushin but Kyokushin itself is a Karate and Muay thai. Muay thai is basically a foundation of both styles in the end. You can clearly see how Dutch and Kyokushin both wear muay thai short to kick like muay thai and both of them dont wear stupid Gi. Traditional Karates wear Gi because its not meant for fighting to begin with. Again, Gi is there to make cool sounds with snap kicks, but thats about it.

I learned about Dutch kickboxing by asking a worship leader at my church in China to spar. He was dutch..... First jab caused the back of my head to hit my back. I will never judge a book by its cover again!

@@AroundElvesWatchUrselves96 Dutch kickboxing came from Japanese kickboxing which is based on Muay Thai, also trainers like thom harinck learned Muay Thai in thailand for a long time after that. So karate boys, im sorry but karate is not even close to Muay Thai in terms of power and techniques

It's perfected kyokushin. There are very few muay thai elements.

@@hellbow1851 It came fom Kyokushin + muay thai 🤡. Dutck kb can be traced back to Kenji Kurosaki,who developed his style of kickboxing when he got KO'd by a thai, and thus cross trained in Muay Thai to compete against them, eventually teaching it to Jan Plas who taught it to the Dutch.

LOl you an idiot or something? Karate is just kickboxing including muay thai but with elbows, knees and clinching. There are only 5 types of Hand to hand Combat styles: Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Grappling.

No because it is Dutch and it's also kickboxing so it should be called Dutch kickboxing. And "full contact karate to the head and with gloves" doesn't exactly have a ring to it

If you want to stop calling it Dutch kickboxing, then its Dutch muay thai. And full contact karate is basically boxing/muay thai as you can see clearly how they evevn wear muay thai shorts to kick like muay thai lol. Both Dutch and Kyokushin came from Muay thai xD
