Flow cytometry is a powerful technique for studying single cells. In the first episode of our Introduction to Flow Cytometry series, I examine the basic components of flow cytometers and how these instruments are used to study cells and their functions.
I also dive into the importance of understanding when and why you would chose to use flow cytometry, compared with other scientific techniques such as microscopy or molecular biology.

Hi Aja, what a wonderful introduction to flow cytometry! I am going to watch the entire series of videos. Has anyone ever designed open source flowcytometers?

Thank you! There are a number of open-source flow cytometry software options but I don't know of any open-source flow cytometers off the top of my head.
