In this video I am wondering What is going on with H&M? I have a Plus size try on haul for you but it all went a bit pear shape..
As a plus size personal stylist I am always on the lookout for great plus size fashion. As an apple shape I am always looking for pieces that will help us apples to make the most of our curves.

Here in The Netherlands this started long ago…. Less and less plus clothing on the actual shops and finally one day completely vanish… I asked and they told me that the plus collection was available only on line…. Really bad, and now even on line is only normal collection with one or two items XXL….. and people wonder why Shein is so popular….

Hi Marleen, another very informative video. I think it’s a big mistake on the part of retailers to faze out plus sizes. The other thing that’s become almost impossible to find is “petite plus” and when you find something it’s expensive. Let’s hope things change. Best always!

Getting petite in any size and it’s not just about chopping the legs off trousers. And they don’t understand they need a different pattern. I found a pair of m and s cords in a charity shop when petite was petite the fit perfect. It’s more than annoying and it seams to be common practice I could only dream of a 31 inch leg.

Have to agree about H & M sizing. I'm a 18/20 and bought a pair of size 20 trousers similar to a pair I already have (different colour, bought last year), and couldn't get them over my hips. Sent them back and ordered a 22, fully expecting them to be too big. I could do them up but they were too tight to wear so they went back too. The kicker is I measured them against last year's pair and they were a good two inches smaller all round. The plus size has all but disappeared and the sizing is very off on what's left.

Thank you for your honest review. I think H&M will bury this sparse selection of undersized clothes on their website and then when it doesn’t sell because it doesn’t FIT, they’ll say “plus sizes just weren’t selling so we’ve stopped making them.” Old Navy is going down the same path 😐

I love this whole haul! The striped top looks so cute French tucked but when you untucked it you look really nice. And the last print pants looks incredible how you had the outfit but those pants would be cute to French tucked a top! 🥰

I never find trousers or jeans in h&m that fit me for reference I'm usually a 14 possible 16 in most places but tried on a pair of leather trousers in store in a 22 and I couldn't even tie the button or zip on them. Same with jeans if I can get a size 18 over my butt I'd be lucky. They are very hit and miss but disastrous with trousers and jeans

Here in switzerland I noticed fir a while now that most all the models shown on the photos are skinny and very thin women. I just hate to imagine myself wearing something shown on someone I can't identify with. Just a shame who H&M bodyshames plus sizes. And yes on the Swiss online shop plus sizes don't have their own category .mmmbut dogs do.😢

lol well I’m very glad the dogs still have their own category, we wouldn’t want them to have problem when shopping 😂 it’s so sad it has gone this way and yea more and more retailers don’t use any kind of inclusive models. It’s so sad xx

I actually decided to check H&M out just last week and in Australia saw there were only really basics available. I did a search for Australian hauls and in my searches also found a few other videos with almost the same title as yours (think they were from UK) so you're not the only one starting to notice. I wrote an email to Australian Target as their range is now so dowdy and insulting with awful shape, patterns and textures. Perhaps a feedback campaign is needed.

I honestly don’t know what is needed anymore. I don’t know if it’s the sustainable market taking over meaning the mainstream can’t afford to play anymore or what it is. Sadly it just means less for us who don’t fit into the regular sizes boxes x

The clothing industry could be so fabulous. Affordable clothes for every size and shape is how it should be in this day and age. I don’t like actual ‘outside’ shopping anymore, very few shops to choose from with next to no plus sizes. No wonder Shein and the like are doing so well. I’m glad we’ve got Shein. xxx

I totally get what you mean Marleen. New Look was one of my favs and they have now moved away from a plus size section. They do go to a 22 and their sizes are fairly spot on so I can still shop there, but... The clothes are no longer cut for a plus size gal, they are the same cut as the smaller sizes and so the fit is not as nice most of the time. I don't know why companies are doing this. H&M have always been poor at trouser sizing. I would often buy a 28 when I am a 22 elsewhere, so like you said trouser wise they are now catering to a size 18 and below.

Yes NewLook seem to be removing plus as well. Size 22 may be a good size but it’s no where near inclusive nor cut for curves. It’s very sad isn’t it xx

Oh really? Matalan don’t ship to Ireland and I have a long drive to get to the nearest in Northern Ireland so I haven’t been there in many years.. how sad is it? We will end up with only shein bothering creating clothes for us x

I've found m and s tshirts to be nice and thick and sometimes next. I don't think anyone really makes clothes for apple shape. I've also noticed plus size disappearing and next use skinny models for their curve range!!

HM isn't the only one I've noticed it being a issue when a few of the influencers I follow touched in the subject. These companies are removing big clothes because everyone is on ozempic. People are removing their BBLs, everyone is on the heroin chic wave and people are being hella fatphobic.

I hear you. I give up on them when they pulled out of the actual shops but was so delighted when I saw them online last year. I got most of my summer pieces from them. Really bummed seeing this now but fingers crossed they will Come back x

I'm seeing the same trend in the usa from a number of retailers. A founder of Luluemon went on a fatphobic rant, were "uninspiring" and public agreed. He named several retailers whose sales had gone down after they incl more inclusive sizing - saying standard sizes no longer considered the brand as "trendy". He blamed public perception. I don't know how true that is, correlation is not causation. This was apx 6mos ago and I don't remember the name of the publication or his name. I found it appalling. Other than the retailers pulling sizes is hard to ignore. Just FYI. It's stayed on my mind.

The sizing was ridiculous, my daughter is a size 10 and won’t shop at h and m as even a 12 can be tight. Never understand how the sizing is so wrong and when the average size is climbing it makes sense to do larger sizing. Oh well there loss x

All the sizes changed .. Before I ordered a XL, it was a XL that I received. Now I have to resend the paquet 2 times, and it still not a XL. I think they ajust their sizes with the new shops they fusion with..I know COS for a while, they say it's the little sister of HM. More expensive and only going to 42 euro size...😢😢

I live in the third largest city in my state and the selection of plus size clothes in store sucks. What I don’t understand is plus size is u fortunately growing in the USA sooo then what? It seems like bad business but no one asked us plus size people

wait did they get rid of plus sizes or not? sounds like they just mixed all the size ranges together or something. if they still carry plus sizes, but you have to filter for it, that's just like any other skinny or midsize person shopping for things that are still available in their size... and i honestly don't believe they would ever stop carrying plus all together, since a huge chunk of their customer base is in america

It seems as if a lot of the clothing lines quality and sizing are decreasing. I have started shopping secondhand for older more classic styles rather than gamble on the new stuff. Very disappointing.

H&M sizes are so weird! I bought my 13 year old daughter a pair of cargo pants around Christmas, size 42 (Danish size) and they were too small! Size 46 fits her like a glow and she is not a big girl! I tried a pair of jeans size 56 (Danish size) and could not close the zipper.. I normally wear size 46 (Danish size) in jeans depending on the fit. H&M sizes are much MUCH smaller than any other brands I know.. It's such a shame.

I am Danish 😁 I honestly don’t take my young daughter to H&M to shop as the sizing is so off that I know it will affect her, that happened to my older daughter and it took me a long time to convince her it was the sizing that was wrong bit her body. It’s sad. Xx

H&M has issues with sizing for all of their sizes. I'm not sure what's going on, but overall the quality has dropped and sizing has been odd, so my kids won't even go there anymore.

I was in H&M yesterday, here in the US, and I was NOT impressed at all. The sizing and quality were horrible🤨 I’m a size 12 and when it seemed I had to try on 16 or 18 in jeans, I left.

I have to say that H&M is one of the few brands that don't engage in vanity sizing. People need their true size there and not the size they are accustomed to at other places and therefore are disappointed. For example, I am a EUR 42 in trousers at H&M which is actually my true size (according to size charts) but can quite easily fit in a EUR 40 at other places that cut more generously on purpose.

They dont remove the bigger sizes, they only get rid of just the category plus size. My daughter have odered in EU/Swedish size 52-54, UK 24-26. Love your videos❤❤

Yes I did find a few pieces but the plus section is gone and they (so far) haven’t taken all items to the a specific size. We can only hope they will soon sort it out x

I think the problem is affordable clothing lines are cutting back on anything that isn’t standard. So petite or tall all leg lengths are the same. Some brands just don’t want to be seen selling to larger bodies which baffles me as the money that can be made is huge as long as they stock the right clothes. Seams like we’re going back to the bad old days of only evans I miss etam and bhs But even if your a smaller size it’s a dam lottery if they are gonna fit and you have to pay for returns. Roman originals do curve I never really understood thin privilege until I lost weight and that I can just go into a shop is amazing but why is it not like that for every size. Joe brown has great clothes yet it’s either through fashion world or simply be for the curve what’s that all about unless you know you would never find them. I get that everyone’s size 20 is different depending on the body but how come a 20 in the same jeans same shop different colour can vary so much. I never find anything bar band t shirts or joggers in h and m But saw another vid from a plus size lady who went in to detail of many years of how the industry as treated curve sizes. Ted baker has just gone into administration and I think many more will follow. If that cream suit would have fitted it would have looked so good. And as for speciality boutiques most have gone as Main Street shops took there business.

So many places that used to have plus are either merging or closing down. The foreign market has moved up here and no one can compete and when they have people in Charge of a plus section that are a size “0” and or of our male counterparts, it was never gonna be a success in the first place. It’s so sad to see xx

@@ImjustmeMarleen I’ve seen Abercrombie and fitch jeans meant to be really good another utuber about your size really impressed except she’s tall. Me short and my size all out of stock or so bleached there taking me back to a time I’d rather not. City chic who bought evans never heard anything of them and if you look at the stuff in aus seams ok but theve just sold evans at a huge loss no marketing baffles me. I just want clothes I don’t have to get altered that fit nice and feel nice and you wouldn’t think it would be so hard I don’t do fast fashion but also totally earth sustainable are out of my price league. I am being more conscious of what I buy it has to work hard and mix and match or need replacing. I even have a list now instead of mindless shopping. I thinking of taking sewing lessons as altering trousers pushes it out of what I want to spend.

@@ImjustmeMarleen I don’t like shiens business model but the sizes they sell should red flag other companies there’s profit to be made. I love Eastern Europe as they will tailor the clothes to you. I’d pay more on qvc for a jumpsuit that I then needed taking to my sewing magician. Last I looked the jumpsuit im after is just over £100 plus normal postage. And with my long body short legs they are a nightmare fit. So to give my measurements is fab.yes it’s not cheap but all I’ve had so far has been way better than expected.

Yes tailoring is amazing. I occasionally spend extra on getting pieces altered for the perfect fit.
