Wonderful, lots of good ideas to add to our first aid kit. One thing we found useful is to keep a unopened bottle of cheap contact solution for eye wounds. You can squeeze the bottle and get a nice stream to wash out debris in eyes. This came about at our cabin when someone got sawdust in their eye when wood cutting and this worked really well. It is best as a single use item. Unprocessed honey is a wonderful anti-microbial and as an added benefit, the band-aids stick to the wound. I'm a retired ski patroller after a decade of service. Lots of good ideas there too.

Can never have enough medical preps.

Good stuff MR, I have a similar med box my RN daughter in law helped me with. My excess supplies of gauze, alcohol, peroxide, etc. are kept in 5 gallon buckets with red gamma seal lids to show that they’re medical supplies. A separate trauma kit is always in my vehicle. I always appreciate your videos, great information and food for thought.

Thanks MR for some really good information. I appreciate how much great content you give us even with everything else you have going on with family, gardens, new job, etc.

Good video! I'd put the gloves in a ziploc baggie and put them in the compartment, to protect them from any bad bacteria in there. There are also surgical gloves that come in individually wrapped bags to keep them absolutely sterile. Thanks for sharing, good kit! -Jill

Thank you for sharing your excellent wound care kit. Appreciate all your ideas and tips. You clearly have put a lot of thought into it. This would be more lifesaving than many people realize. Infection kills.

Hibiclens is a good product for cleaning/sanitizing wounds. My wife’s surgeon loved that stuff so much I thought maybe he was drinking it on the side!🤔😂

One thing I found out from small wounds. You need a LOT of wound dressings (gauze, bandages, etc.). Changing dressings twice a day eats up a lot of stuff real quick! Thanks for the video. I need to increase this area for sure!

Had a small laceration and was concerned about infection. Continued to change the bandage and clean the wound with peroxide daily. After 3 days the wound refused to close. The peroxide was destroying the new tissue trying to form. Stopped using it and the wound healed very quickly. I would use it again to do initial cleaning if I had nothing else, but it is no longer in my kit.

Wound wash is good stuff, especially when you cut yourself with a dirty tool. Your video reminded me it’s time to restock.

MR, Good Video. Good thinking. Good items. If you were to imagine a pickup bed, now fill it with 1st Aid and Wound care supplies along with what one might find in a Very Small Clinic. As well as a few cases of traditional medical manuals & alternative medicine manuals. Pretty much what my gear is. Former Paramedic & Wound Care Tech. From the 👍. Best

Nice looking kit. I have most of these supplies but don’t have them in a defined kit. I should organize them into a dedicated kit.

Timely....I just got notified I have a bear tag this year in the UP. Had a friend with a close call last year. A sow with cubs walked up behind the tent blind and was sniffing the zipper.

I have the fortune (or misfortune) that I inherited alot of the higher end type dressings after my mother had three hip replacements. I have have many of these unusual dressing in my stash now. So many you cannot find in an average store.

There are a lot of items in your first aid kit that have expiration dates. Do you diligently change those out when they expire? I have this debate with people about the accuracy of expiration dates. What are your thoughts?
@ModernRefugee8 күн бұрын
As you can see, if the package is not compromised I will still use the items. Unfortunately I don’t have the $ like the government. So I have to utilize what I have.

Help me built a Med Kit , the got attacked by a Polar Bear , shot by an Eskimo saving me , then got in a crash on the way to the hospital Kit , cover all the bases
